3-4-2012 Week in Review…

I must start out with my birthday Shout Outs!!

On Monday it was my BIL, Scott’s b-day!! and my cousin Tiffany’s b-day!!  On Tuesday it was my Aunt Ann’s b-day and my sweet niece, Makenzie’s b-day!!  I love that we have so much family in our lives!!

Tuesday I picked Corben up from school instead of having him endure the usual 2 hr ride home from school, so he could finish up his english project that he’s been working on for 2 months.  He had to make a scrapbook of someone's life (Rosa Parks) which included: 16 mini projects (including a family tree, birth certificate, a letter she may have wrote to her family, a childhood report card, a letter she may have written to an advice columnist, music she may have listened to, what was in her purse, sports she may have played, a news article about her, world events that may have happened during her life, an obituary, a poem, and a billion other things.), 6-13 pages of notes, and everything scrapbooked and pretty. He couldn't use real birth certificates or articles. He had to write them all himself from what he found. Tough project for a boy who hates to write and doesn't have a clue about scrapbooking. But he did it!  AND, the best part, there was not a tear shed by either of us! lol  It was a late night/early morning but we were both so happy it was done when we crashed in bed.  Great job, Corben.

Wednesday I woke to find that I’d been showcased by an amazing local photographer.  What an honor today to have my work shared by photographer Kevin M. James! Thanks to The Photography of Kevin M. James for giving me a happy boost this morning!

After school I took the kids out to work on our Leaping for LEAP DAY!!  You can see all of their shenanigans HERE!  P.S.  My kids are AWESOME.

It was a busy day all around.  I had an OB appt and then the boys both had dentist appts.  We then did our leaping and rushed out to scouts for the evening…

FYI - If you wouldn't walk up to someone and say, "Wow! You are SO FAT!!" then think twice (x infinity +1) before EVER saying to a pregnant woman, "Wow! Are you having TWINS??!!" You would think this would be common knowledge especially coming from other mothers. – I try not to have this hurt my feelings as often as it happens but some days it’s hard.

Saturday started early as I was out with the kids to head up my new calling at church as Public Relations person for our congregation.  Last year we were able to set a World Record with our food drive efforts and this year we were attempting to help the local School of Science and Math round out a 3 year total of 1,000,000 lbs of food.  It was rough weather all day which put a huge damper on turn out and the drive fell short of it’s goal but our congregation and one other managed to gather 3 large pallets of food to donate.  The boys set out with the youth to go door to door to collect goods all morning and then came back and did box races in the gym to pass the time while we sorted and waited for more donations.

Sunday was cold but the girls found themselves outside in the afternoon anyway planting seeds.

Dade headed out after church to spend most of the afternoon and evening out with the missionaries. I’m so proud of that kid.  The rest of the family headed over to a wedding open house where my brother, Jason, creamed Corben’s undefeated status at air hockey.  10-0…it was shameful. LOL  Corben has vowed revenge.
