Monday – first day of school
At school the kids drank Jitter Juice to help calm their first day nerves.
Ella had a fantastic first day!!
My Corben has gorgeous eyes and the longest eye lashes…
Wednesday Corben & Sylvie headed over to a friends house. She caught these fun pictures of them eating limes. Corben also had a Brave Moment. He had a run in with a dog (he’s afraid of dogs) but despite the scariness of the moment he held it together and stayed cool. I’m super proud of him!
Thursday was Dade & Corben day. I want the kids to each get some time with Dade before he goes and since Corben leaves tomorrow it was time for them to hang out together. I drove them to Frankies (an arcade/go cart/golf kind of place) and dropped them off for several hours. They had a great time and Sylvie and I were able to get some shopping done for Dades’ school stuff.
Soon after we got home the boys both headed out to a LAN party. That’s where you take your computer and hook it too all your friends computers and game and game and game….
Friday started the Tax Free weekend and the beginning of madness in our lives. We headed out early to JCPenney to get suits for the boys and other clothing. That took most of the day. We then rushed back to pick up Ella and Dade started packing for his weekend with his stepmom. The rest of us ran back out to get Ella her FREE haircut at JCPenney (Check out her butchered bangs in the pictures below…you get what you pay for). We went straight from there to my mom’s to have time with my Grandma and drop Corben off for his 2 week trip with my mom and Gramma Great to Colorado and Utah!
Saturday Dade headed out for a weekend with Natalie (stepmom) and a trip to the beach. Corben headed out to Colorado and the girls and I dropped Ryan off at the airport for a 2 week trip to JAPAN!!
Beautiful morning at the airport observation deck. Waiting with the girls to watch Corben's plane headed to Colorado and Ryan's plane headed for Japan!
Waving to Corben’s plane!! He could see them and waved back!
switched cameras…
In the mean time, Ryan was on a plane…(but his trip is going to be a blog of it’s own…later)
Corben, Mom & Grandma Great made it safely to Colorado! Here they are waiting to get picked up from the airport! (I can blog some of their trip because mom took pictures and sent home a daily journal! Thanks, Mom! – It will be a separate blog post though.)
Sunday, for the first time in a while, I felt the strong prompting to bear my testimony in church. I hate that is was when none of my guys were home but I realized later that my Sunday morning had been very peaceful and quiet and I think that led to the Spirit being so strong. Guess I need to talk to the guys about how crazy they make me on Sundays lol. (My friend Leah is always ready with her phone camera…)
That evening Dade got home just in time for us to have his new roommate and his family over for supper breakfast!! (Funny-ish story…I invited this fabulous family over for supper knowing that Ryan makes the most fabulous food! As I clicked the send button it occurred to me that he would be in JAPAN!! PANIC. My sweet SIL even offered to make a meal and bring it over and I almost took her up on it. I then remembered that I can make an awesome breakfast and luckily they were up for it.) We had fabulous Alton Brown french toast!! YUMMY.
Dade’s roommate is LDS and we are so excited for the boys to have each other as friends. Their family is so awesome and we have a ton in common. I just love Dallin’s mom. I’m so grateful to have her as an additional strength through this whole process.
After everyone left Dade helped me catch up on the times so we could stay in contact while he’s at school…here was my FB post:
I'm so behind the times...I'm Skyping for the first time...with Dade...who's in the same room. At least I know it works before school starts! He is lip syncing to Can't Hug Every Cat -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP4NMoJcFd4
And with that…I’ll leave you with Ryan…who is still flying a full day later…
