Tuesday was great news. That’s all I have to say about that.
Wednesday I headed out to visit with my sister for the day! Yeah! Gma was there and it was so fun spending some time with her and hearing stories about my mom when she was little. Wednesday night Dade had a wrestling match. I told him there was some family coming but I don’t think he had any idea… (here’s some of the group!)
Coolest part is that my awesome SIL made towels and buttons for us all to use in cheering Dade on!
Here’s everyone hanging out waiting for the match…
Then the match began…
…and the towels and the cheers starting going!!
Dade didn’t win his match (he’s wrestling up an entire weight class) but did a great job and came and sat with us afterwards. I love how our family loves and supports our kids!!
Thursday I shopped, Dade went to a birthday party and spent the night, and then, out of the blue, my brother and his wife called to see if they could kidnap my kids to go see a local Christmas light spectacular!! I love my family.
Friday was Surprise Mom day. My siblings and I all got together while my mom was at work and started cleaning and fixing things t her house. We scrubbed, organized, laughed, put on a new screen door, and my brothers worked on her well that’s been spitting out mud for years. It was fun to find some long lost things from our childhood…these are from a quiet book my mom had made for us. Isn’t she talented? Mom was SO surprised when she showed up. It was a fun day with my siblings and well worth it.
Saturday was the E family Christmas party. I have about NO pictures. Well, there’s 3 but they’re HORRIBLE. I’m hoping to snag some from my fam later. Here’s Ella holding baby Jamos. It was so cute.
Here’s Corben after playing the Oreo game (you put half an Oreo on your forehead and try to work it down to your mouth without touching it). The only Oreos Tam had were Christmas Oreos with Red inside! Here’s Corben’s red face…
Oh, wait, I just got some pics from Tam! Yeah!!
Now, for family members who are interested…I have a link to Tammy and her friend, Donna, doing the Oreo game on video…good stuff! (Email me!) :D
We got home in time for me to get all the kids in bed and get ready for Santa. Ryan insisted we make him breakfast this year… I hope Santa doesn’t see this picture or he may think twice about eating at our house again…lol!! Poor Sylvie was up all night crying that she couldn’t get to sleep and worrying if she was going to get the ballerina box she’d asked Santa for.
Christmas morning we woke up LATE for church!! I was shocked. Not a single kid was awake and out of bed! What kind of kids ARE these??!! We came down to find that not only did Santa love his breakfast but he left us an awesome note.
We told the kids they could open their gift from Santa and one other gift before we left for church. Ella got jewelry from Santa…
…Sylvie got her ballerina box…
Corben got a remote control car and Dade got an electric razor!
Then we headed out to church which was shortened to one hour. When we came in I told the kids to change out of their Sunday clothes and was shocked to see Dade start to get undressed right in the kitchen. My shock quickly turned to laughs as I saw his pajama pants come out from under his Sunday pants. He’d dressed over his PJ’s!!
Christmas was the Best. Day. Ever. Not because of what we got but because it was an entire day of family love and togetherness. There wasn’t a single fight. Everyone worked hard to play with each other and be kind. Everyone was thankful and loving. Ryan and Corben even played ping pong in the dining room for over an hour!!
Dade got a fun sweatshirt with this tag inside. Geek humor…
For Supper we had Reindeer pancakes!!
This is Corben working on my knitting doll. This doll was found Friday at my mom’s house. I’d thought it was lost almost 20 years ago and burst into tears when it was found. My grandmother gave this to me and showed me how to use it. I would sit and knit with it while sitting with her on our visits.
Merry Christmas!!
