4-17-2011 Week in Review

I know, I know…I’m a bit behind!  But, I’m bloggin’ pics every day, I have a billion wedding photos to start editing (so you’re all going to have to be VERY patient in that area), and life is just going at full speed, as usual!  So, here’s the super quick run down…

Monday – Ryan started building the kids a new swingset….and we found bird eggs in the yard! Click HERE for more pics

That evening….I just yelled (I do that too much) at my kids to get in bed and Sylvie whispered (not so quietly) Wow, she's kind of creepy!  So I yelled again and she screamed AAHHH, It's an Alien! -- I think I've lost my edge...

Wednesday we played Hopscotch outside and the boys had scouts.  Sylvie and I had the absolute best Mommy/Sylvie time.  We swung, she played kickball with the neighbors, we went for a walk and made new friends and swung with them, then we came home and watched movies together! What a great evening!  More pics HERE.

Thursday was our Playdate!  I drove up in the morning and picked up my niece and nephew so Tam could have some cake making time.  There were 12 kids at our playdate!  I’m loving all the mommy time!  The kids just played in the yard and we made some airplanes.  Pics HERE.

We had a nice long evening with Bean & Monkeyman and then I stayed for a bit to help with the cake after I took them home.  I made a LOT of boulders and 2 trees! Go me.  The best part was the one on one time with my sister.  I sure love her!

Friday was get ready for a  crazy weekend – day!  I headed out early to get some clothes for me and for Sylvie for the wedding.  Sylvie picked out a cute purple dress and I hit the jackpot at Ross!  We went straight from there to Corben’s school to see the science fair and awards ceremony.  Corben got a perfect score on his project!

We got home and had a little time outside.  Pics HERE.

Then I left the kids with pizza & doughnuts and headed out for a quick line dancing lesson with the happy couple to be and then went for milkshakes with my Brother Jymn, who flew in, and my uncles who flew in on a personal plane from out of town!

Saturday was THE WEDDING!!  I was well prepared so the morning went smoothly and we got to the temple early.  I had raingear on my camera because the weather was calling for some severe storms at some point.  The morning was cloudy but beautiful and the wedding was glorious.  I will do a wedding post much later when I get to all the pictures.  Ella had a camera of her own so I’m going to do a preview blog from her point of view first.  Give me a few days… There are some pics of the kids HERE.

My sister, Rachel, and her boyfriend, Woody, couldn’t make it due to still having classes so, I brought them on a stick!! (It’s kind of a family tradition!)  Aren’t they adorable?

The afternoon was tragic in our area.  Tornadoes tore through our area destroying entire neighborhoods.  They came within miles of my home but we are blessed to have been spared from any damage.  Many of my friends experienced damage and witnessed some scary things but all are safe.  We are praying for everyone who was not so lucky.

Due to scary weather, the reception started a little late but there were still quite a lot of people there and the sun was shining!  Here’s pictures of the cake my sister worked on for weeks!  Isn’t it amazing?!

Sunday the realization of the amount of devastation in our area became clear.  At church we discussed plans to help the community.  Opening our homes to those with no power, helping at the local shelter, and sending out teams to help remove debris.  Ryan headed out with his chainsaw, ladder, and some pass-a-long cards and was gone the entire day.  We spent some quiet time and home (Pics HERE) and then we headed to my mom’s to say good-bye to my brother before he left for home.  Short visits like this are hard!

I am happy to know that those who have suffered from the damage of tornadoes have YOU for a neighbor and friend....oh, how I wish I could visit you.
