AAAHHHH!! I have SO much to do! Why am I on here typing?! I have three photo shoots to finish editing, a house that is destroyed! Wedding attire to purchase, pictures to print, wedding gifts and such to purchase (the wedding is Saturday), PTA stuff, primary stuff (the primary program is Sunday), scout stuff, doctor appts, UNC studies to keep up with, a bridal shower, family parties, a WEDDING (which I am SO excited about), and a billion other things!! I may need someone to rock me by Sunday evening…
Monday
Bad = Tried to blow up dryer on 1st load by dropping a pencil down the lint trap, took it apart, found a BIB down there, too, had the entire laundry room in disaster mode with the dryer in pieces when husband TRIED to walk in the side door (he had to go around to the back door to get in) and finally got it all back together only to find out that somewhere during the put back together process I knocked the heating wire off….2 loads of soaking wet laundry and a dryer that blows cold air….sigh.
So, as a recap….
In case you ever wondered….
Good = Bridal photos finished, house tidied up, laundry started, photos dropped off for development, time out with Bride-2-B and SIL, laundry started…
Tuesday
Bad = the kids were CRAZY at the mall, and I didn’t get the million other things I needed to get done done. Did that make sense? I only have 3 days to accomplish 2 weeks worth of things….AAAAHHHHH!!!!! (Looks like I’ll be up all night getting stuff done…especially since I took an Excedrin to get rid of the headache and now I can’t get rid of the insomnia!)
Good = Had AMAZING results with Ella using the new Tantrum Tamers program. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!!! I can’t tell you how excited I am. 4 times today she went from all out fit to doing what I wanted in a matter of seconds!! I also got out to the mall with my SIL for some shopping, we had Family Home Evening!!! (I apparently ROCK at cornhole…), we ate bacon pancakes (pancake batter poured over bacon strips..YUM),
Choc chip cookies, I got caught up on pictures, I picked up the bridal pictures for the reception, the dryer got fixed and the laundry rewashed and dried, and….Ryan got possibly GREAT news…(more to come on that later)
Wednesday
Bad = Didn’t get to as much as I would have liked due to exhaustion but I tried!
Good = Saw my friends on Dr. Phil.
I also got a few things done around the house…or maybe I should take out the “a” and just admit I got few things done….lol. My mom came and took 3 of the kids out to scouts and fama time so Ryan and I headed out and got the shopping done I’d failed to get to. It was so nice having time out with him! I even got a new outfit! (You gotta love when an entire new outfit costs only $25…I love Ross.)
Thursday
Bad = No pedicures with the SILs due to a sick kid home from school…sigh. To top it off I was a terrible mommy today. A few of my sweet, dear children were in rare (or not so rare) form and instead of being a calm, firm parent I turned into a yelling, screaming whatever-ya-wanna-call-it and I’m so upset about it. I finally closed myself off in a room where I thought I could be alone and had a good sob. Luckily, my husband was in calm, firm parent mode and not only took control but wiped my tears and sent me out the door to have some fun.
Good = Rain! I just love rain (as long as it’s not winter). AND my SIL’s bridal shower! It was so nice to laugh, win prizes (my (and the groom’s sis) toilet paper wedding gown won first prize!) – pics to come…hopefully.
Friday
Bad = I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR TO THE WEDDING!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!…it’s been the entire day since I wrote that and I STILL don’t have anything…sigh. Oh, and my phone they gave me for the Behavior study? It’s suddenly out of service. I probably did something wrong…
Good = Was able to help my sis with her dogs today and then able to let my mom help her too by taking them from me. Got to go to a fun pizza picnic and meet our new BIL’s family. What a nice evening!
Saturday
Bad = Nothing.
Good = It’s Rachel & Wade’s wedding day!! We headed out EARLY after getting up even earlier to curl hair (see Ella’s head) and get everything just perfect. Right when we pulled up, up runs Ryan’s sister with the cutest dress EVER for me to wear. You ROCK, Amy!! Then, since we got the the temple early we decided to snap a few pics before the ceremony. Sylvie was freezing and Ella was grumpy…at first…
It only took about 45 minutes and a ton of spray gel to get these curls!!
Here is a picture of Ryan petting a BEE….yes, I said a BEE and, yes, it was alive…(SEE! The temple is such a heavenly place that even the bees are kind…it was SO amazing…)
After the sealing I came out to find Ella’s hair a sweaty flat mess!! So up in a pony it went…sigh. So glad I caught a few before it fell!
Mix the Corben from the first one with the Dade from the 2nd and you’ll have the pic I’m going to make later!!
Um, could her hair be any more spectacular?
The following are a mix of pics by me and by Ryan. I love that my hubby loves to take pictures, too!
Don’t you just love how easy these boys were to entertain?!
You can’t really tell but before the picture below, Sylvie had spent the last 20 minutes with her head buried in my or Ryan’s shoulder sobbing and asking to go home. She’d gotten embarrassed after she tried to stand by Dade in the boys’ picture and someone asked her to get out of the picture. She finally came out of hiding to hold the bouquet and pose with the beautiful Aunt Rachel!
After the sealing we went home for a quick nap and then headed back out to the reception!!
When it was all over they left in a shower of sparks. The green light is Ryan’s favorite green laser. What an amazing evening! (Where was Dade all evening, you ask?? Hanging out with all the other babysitters/teenage girls that were there! lol)
Sunday
Bad = Nothing.
Good = The primary program went GREAT!! The kids sang like never before and we ended at the exact minute we were supposed to. Way to go everyone! Dade helped me out by holding a balloon in the very back of the chapel that he raised and lowered depending on how well they were singing. It was a lot of fun. To top it off, they presented me with roses for all my hard work. I really think the kids should get them but it’s nice to know that someone thinks I’m doing an okay job!
To top off the day, the boys found out that their dad is moving next year to be closer to them. He will only be a little over an hour away. They are beyond excited! He hasn’t lived close by since Corben was born.
On an interesting note….I decided to go back and see what I was doing this week a year ago and here’s how it started…(I figured I’d check off if I actually completed any of these things…)
Wow, this is a busy time of year…..
I’m currently:
Booked through the end of November for photos….(same this year)
Working on expanding my Heritage Makers business….(kind of giving up on this one…I’m not pushy enough)
Trying to clean/keep clean my house….(same)
Attempting to clean my mom’s house out of every item I left there when I married Ryan after having lived with her for 8 years (?)….all before my sister moves in with her on Wednesday….(actually I finished this a couple of weeks ago…though it’s all in Ryan’s container outside and in the computer room…I’m ALMOST done! Maybe.)
Trying to prepare for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a whole slew of birthdays….(same)
Attempting to scan thousands of photos from my mom’s side of the family….(finished THAT but now I’m working on OUR family photos that I pulled from the moldy shed…sigh)
Working on SEVERAL books/calendars/12x12 pages/cards, etc. through Heritage Makers….(as always…probably same ones)
Volunteering at Corben’s school….(Volunteering at Dade’s school in the PTSA presidency)
Helping run errands for some friends who cant….(seems to be the only difference but you could easily change it to volunteering with the scouts and driving Ella out weekly for Tantrum Tamers)
Trying to do better in a whole array of Spiritual areas….(same)
Leading the music for the children in our congregation and trying to get them ready for next months BIG performance….(make that THIS weekend’s performance)
…..wait….there’s something else….
Oh yes…..raising/chasing/driving/teaching/feeding/scolding/loving 4 wonderful children…….and a husband. (same…thankfully!)
Anyway, so as you can see, this is just a busy time of year but thankfully, I survived the week and I don’t need rocking. I do have a messy house to show for it and I’m behind on a few things but I expect I’ll catch up at some point…right?? Maybe?? Anyway, thanks for reading through our crazy week!
