10-10-10 Week in Review…

Oops, found some pics that didn’t make it in last week….

Here’s what it looks like when you have kids old enough to get out and wash the car for you at the d0-it-yourself car wash.  Ahh, life is good.

This was last Saturday at my SIL’s.  Dade looks over the side of the deck and yells, “Look! It’s Ella Vader!”  At that both me and my SIL crack up laughing and start taking pictures.  Dade is looking at us funny…

We call Ella up on the deck (still laughing) and start taking pictures of her.  When Ryan comes over I pick Ella up and start raising and lowering her up and down and ask Ryan what it is….he stares blankly until I explain that it’s “An Ella-Vader!!” (an elevator).  Suddenly Dade busts out laughing!!  He finally got his own joke….

Okay, back to the current week.  Dade started wrestling practice this week.  They sure run those kids into the ground!  He’s keeping up though and I’m really proud of him!  He found this sign at Wal-Mart on our way home.  As you can see, they were sold out of….what ever it was….I should have gotten a rain check.  Looks like it was a pretty expensive free thing….I mean, look at all those zeroes!

The weather has been BEAUTIFUL this week and the girls (and I) have decided that we should have had a deck years ago!!  I actually had an entire day when the living room stayed clean…

…but the deck didn’t…. don’t you love Ella’s castle??

Now for a shocker….Ryan and I actually went out together with no kids this week….TWICE!!  I know, it’s a miracle! He actually got off work early one day and suggested we go to the temple! It was the most wonderful experience!  Again, blessing of having a child old enough to babysit…YEAH!!

We spent the weekend getting the house together though I got to slip out early to capture my SIL’s bridal portraits!  You would not believe how gorgeous she looked.  I can’t post pics though…sigh.  Groom can’t see the dress!

The picture below will make you worry more than you need to.  He’s fine.  Dade suffers from some asthma that only randomly and mildly rears it’s ugly head.  Friday evening (after doctors offices are closed, of course) he started having shortness of breath and by Saturday afternoon was feeling light headed and just couldn’t get a full breath.  He wasn’t overly complaining about it and you probably wouldn’t have even known if you were hanging out with him but since his rescue inhaler wasn’t working to improve things we headed out to see if we could get one on a weekend…which, of course, means the ER.  Luckily, after having 4 kids and many trips to the ER I knew which one to go to and even though I had to pass a few others on the way it was well worth it as our total time away from home was only 4 hours and an hour of that was driving.

They took chest x-rays and gave him a nebulizer treatment that helped enough that they let him go with a new rescue inhaler.  They agree it may be mild asthma but no one can diagnose him, they say, unless he has a real attack.  Let’s hope that NEVER happens!

The weekend ended fabulously with another beautiful day, a great day at church, and moments when you catch your children spending time together without you forcing them to do it!!  Corben was talking to them about nature and the sun….

We also got a visit from Ryan’s mom!! YEAH! The kids were so excited to see her! What a great week.

Oh, and HAPPY 10.10.10!!!

I know your pains and struggles with the asthma. Keegan has it and our doctor finally broke down and we got a nebulizer for home use. We actually bought one and it has saved us more than I can count. (Paige used it too when she had RSV.) I hope you guys don't have to go that route and hopefully he'll grow out of it!

I LOVE that last photo. It's so poignant. I also love the picture of the gorgeous tiger lilies (?) and can't WAIT to see the bridals! Lastly: I am really wishing I had a deck.

That last picture is SO beautiful. Just about made me cry. I love it. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. (Anything where brothers are being sweet to their siblings touches my heart like nothing else).

I'm glad Dade's doing well!
And those are breathtaking flowers!
