Well we started off this week in the BEST WAY!! With my sister & her beautiful kids! And we made Bird Feeders!….or should I say squirrel feeders….. Anyway, easy to do, just toasted bread, peanut butter & bird seed!…and string….
My sis got them hung up in the trees and then demonstrated for the birds how they should eat them….in case they didn’t know….I know everyone was thankful….
Then we just played in the yard for the longest time enjoying the nicer than usual weather!!
In case you didn’t know, Ella is quite the daredevil & VERY agile. We’re not sure what she’s going to be when she grows up but we’re thinking skater, break dancer, or Women’s Wrestling….hmmmm….
THEN….something went for our bate….and, of course, it was a squirrel who was VERY happy that we’d added breakfast to the bottom of his tree. He was so happy he was hugging it!! LOL
I love seeing our kids playing together! They were “camping” and had made a play fire. So, so cute!!
Tuesday I bravely headed to the mall with the girls for some playtime and to get some pictures printed. I dropped off my pics and headed across the hall to the play area. The girls had a blast jumping and flipping and running and sliding. We were even lucky to have some of their friends show up to play.
After a very long hour and a half, I headed across the hall to get my photos only to find that their machine broke and even though they had my phone number on the ticket it never occurred to them to call me. In stead, I was told I could drive 25 minutes home and then drive back the 25 minute drive later in the afternoon and drag 2 toddlers back through the mall to get them later…..well, that’s not exactly how they said it, but that’s what they meant. Um, NO. So, instead, I got a refund and a promise for free prints “next time” from the manager. GRRR.
Wednesday….it SNOWED. Seriously?? Snow?? Anyway, school was delayed so Corben worked on his cake for the Blue & Gold Banquet for scouts. He and Ryan baked it last night and made the icing. Since Corben didn’t have to go to school until 11 he worked on his Scout Shirt cake. I think he did a fantastic job!!
I had my final night of photography class so I had to miss the banquet but Corben won the Scout Spirit award for his cake. Great job!
Friday evening I actually convinced my husband to attend the Spring Fling dance put on by our congregation and another. Can I just say here that I L.O.V.E. to dance. LOVE it. Love love it. I dance everyday, usually while cleaning or playing with the girls. I was SO excited to go hang out with some people I knew and boogie down & get to slow dance with my husband. Well, I did get to slow dance with my hubby (I think that was the first time since we’ve been married….lol) and the girls had a BLAST dancing the night away, spinning and flipping. But me?? ME?? There was no one that would even consider breakin’ loose except the Young Women and they just stared at me strangely the couple times I broke out some old schoolness…..lol. Besides that, they played a lot of couples fun dancing songs (shag, etc.) BUT my husband doesn’t dance, and I couldn’t dance with anyone else’s husbands….so I sat on the side eating cookies….oh well….I guess that’s what happens when out of 2 whole congregations only MAYBE 20 couples show up?? Seriously people! Where were you? They had enough activities for the kids to keep them completely busy and happy, the food was great, the company even greater but YOU DIDNT COME!! How often do you really get to slow dance with your spouse or laugh with your friends? I was a little grumpy at you all. Sorry….don’t worry, I’ll forgive you in a day or two….:)
Saturday was BEAUTIFUL!! Corben headed out very early to attend the Dixie Deer Classic with my wonderful BIL. Can you believe they bought him a BOW??? Me neither. BUT they did and Corben was out shooting it all morning. Talk about a wonderful day for a 9 year old. He was in boy heaven!!
Dade & Ryan were out early in the morning on a service project while I hung with the girls at home.
I then headed out to a fun family photo shoot for some friends……
While I was gone, Ryan prepped the garden for all of our summer vegetables….we may even try Strawberries this year!
THEN, as a surprise, my brother called to see if he could see us for a bit. We had a nice evening of dinner and star watching. I love my family.
Sunday started about 4am with Ella and an ear ache. I didn’t get much sleep. I kept her home from church while everyone else headed out for a wonderful day of spiritual uplift. Afterwards, the weather was gorgeous so we headed outdoors again. I could get used to all this sun!!
Here’s Sylvie being a Princess…she informed me that the fire pit was dirty so she grabbed a group of pine needles and got to work dusting it out….my very own Cinderella. And here’s how Ella likes to swing when no one is around to push her.
The End.
