Tuesday the girls took their thank you notes to the firestation. We got the usual tour and THEN...they asked if we wanted to go for a RIDE!! Lights, sirens, horn, the whole experience twice around the fire station. I think the girls are finding these thank yous well worth their time and effort! (I admittedly had fun too...even though I didn't even have my camera phone with me...sigh)
Lands' End has the BEST customer service I have EVER EVER EVER encountered. - Corben's book bag strap got caught in the locker below his and broke. Customer service answered on the 1st ring with no automated menu, they are looking to find the part and are sending it for free. If they don't have it they are going to replace his year old backpack (including monogram) for FREE.--- A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
So, I was on the phone with Land’s End talking to them about bookbags when Corben started yelling there was a mouse in the living room!! Everyone evacuated immediately and I had them block off all the exits to the room while I opened the front and back doors. Luckily (for me) we found him curled up in a ball scared to death by one of the blocked exits and I was able to just scoop him up in this container and take him to a better home far far far far far away from our house. The kids, who were scared to death of it, fell in love with him on the car ride and then tried to make me feel guilty for leaving him in a field far away from his family. We’ve been listening to Gregor the Overlander series of books on CD and everyone is in love with the Nibblers (mice) in the book. Oh well, at least he’s not in my house!
After all THAT excitement we went to music night at Ella’s school. She did a great job!! (Please excuse my camera phone. It takes the WORST pictures EVER!!! Ella’s the one in the light pink/peach/orange shirt (depending on the photo) with the yellow bob.
There were better videos of her singing but I had to erase them because my card was full and of course the last song wasn’t as good as the others. Oh well, Ella’s awesome.
Wednesday Dade had wrestling again.
Thursday the weather was GORGEOUS so we went outside!!! Sylvie also had a friend over for much of the day so she was in heaven! Corben even did his homework out on the deck. Have I mentioned how much I love our deck??
Friday morning was cold so I drove Dade to the bus stop and bugged him with pictures…
Corben spent the night at my mom’s house that night.
Saturday was our local Service Expo where I went and learned about tons of service opportunities in the area for people from every walk of life. I’m excited about getting more involved in the community. It’s something that’s been on my mind for years.
Sunday the boys were off to see their dad again. It was also…my sister, Rachel’s Birthday!! Happy Birthday, Rachel!! I love you lots!
