1-15-2012 Week in Review…

Why can I work on blogs from 2007 but I can’t remember last month?? Here’s my attempt…

Monday I helped Corben with his paper mache eye ball project.  It’s turning out pretty cool.  According to the date on the camera these pictures are from Monday.  I believe the camera.  Must have been upstairs partying while I was helping Corben…but I don’t remember it that way. I seem to remember that I was the only other person home but maybe not.  I have prego brain.  ANYWAY, this is the girls rockin’ it out with Ryan upstairs.  It was a full on dance party.  There’s video in THIS post from earlier.

Tuesday was finishing up Corben’s eye ball project that I didn’t get a picture of…of course.

Wednesday I headed over to my sisters to help her pack.  She’s moving.  ((SOB))  It was nice to spend some time together.  Dade was sick but I didn’t get the message while at Tam’s so he went to wrestling anyway and had a rough time.  I had guilt.  (To make it worse the newspaper from the town of the other team took a picture of him having a rough time and posted it in their paper…MORE mother guilt.)

Thursday Dade was sick but headed out to school like a trooper.  I headed to Tam’s to help out some more.  Dade had a temple trip that night so I packed up the kids, picked up a pizza and we sat outside while Dade did baptisms.  We also stopped over at the church bookstore where my Ella loved a red pencil so much that she showed it to me in the car as we were leaving. I know she didn’t mean to steal it but I made her take it back inside to her HORROR and pay for it.  It was quite the ordeal.  She was SO embarrassed and I felt so badly for her but she did the right thing anyway and when we got home she paid me back with her own money and is now the proud owner of a red scripture marking pencil.

Just before Dade was to come out, Sylvie asked if we could go for a walk around the temple.  We grabbed our coats and headed out. Corben didn’t have his with him and sweet Ella kept trying to wrap hers around him as they walked. So loving. As we came around the far side there was a bridal party taking pictures in the dark!  We decided to not go by them but Sylvie was so captivated that we had to go back and watch from a distance.  The bride was beautiful, to say the least, and actually looked very much like Gazelle from Enchanted (with a slightly less puffy and much more modest dress). enchanted

Sylvie was Enchanted and wanted to go and say hi to the bride.  I asked her to stay back and from a distance she tried unsuccessfully to gain the bride’s attention and wave.  Finally I decided I could slip her up there quickly between photos for a quick hello.  I explained that Sylvie thought she was a real princess and that since she was getting married in the temple it was like the ultimate celebrity moment for her.  The bride was so excited to see her and even talked to her sweetly just like Gazelle.  The photographer grabbed lots of photos of them hugging and the bride told Sylvie how beautiful she was and that someday she could get married in the temple, too!  Sylvie was beaming!!  So cool.

Friday the boys had early release and Saturday morning their dad picked them up for the weekend.  He leaves for Afghanistan in February and is trying to get in plenty of visits before he goes.  In the mean time, the girls, Ryan and I headed over the clean the church.  The girls were such troopers and did a great job in the bathrooms!!

That evening the girls and I were in for a real treat!!  Our beloved neighbors invited us to a fashion show that they were in!  Little girl heaven!

Sunday marked the end of my very, very short “break” at church. lol  I was asked to teach in Relief Society (the women’s group) on loving your neighbor.  I feel the lesson actually went well.  I’m waiting for them to ask me to speak in Sacrament meeting. I have a feeling I’m long overdue.

After church we had everyone over for a bye-bye party for Tammy, Chad and the kids.  The boys made it home just in time.

Then Tammy brought out “dessert”.  A plate of MYSTERY MEATS…  Some were brave, some were NOT! lol

You can laugh, but I actually posed for this next one…

And what was it, you ask, THEY were eating???

You won’t catch ME eating the stuff but I may consider a Snake Rib earring or two…lol.

Finally it was time for good-byes (or bad-bye’s, however you feel about it…)

The only reason I’m not going to sob here it because I’m going to travel with Tammy out to Colorado and I’m saving my tears for then…
