Monday – What a beautiful day to be at the beach!

Just before going out to supper we saw this on the horizon. Seems a fire was sparked from lightening a couple of nights ago!

By the time we were done with our food THIS is what it looked like!!

After dark you could see the fire in the distance. Sorry it’s blurry but I was focusing on Ryan writing his name with his laser on the building to prove he was there. Isn’t he talented? :)

Tues – Despite fires nearby the air was so crisp and clear and we slept with the windows open all night. The beach, however, looked a mess. We’d seen ash raining down the night before the in the morning the beach was COVERED in large chunks of forest. Pinecones/needles/wood, you name it. The ocean was also full of the ash and it was no fun to be in. We hoped that as the tide came in it would wash it all back out to sea!

When we got home Tuesday afternoon there was SMOKE everywhere!! It was so thick and terrible and it was all blowing in from the beach! Glad it was clear at the beach!
Wed – Happy Birthday, my Ella!!
Ella had a great day despite starting it out with a new black eye!

I laugh each time I see how Corben is eyeing her money!

Yeah, Ella’s wearing shorts! Now, if I could just convince Sylvie to stop wearing infant dresses and mismatched leggings….

Sylvie kept crying tonight saying, “I’m not the Birthday Girl!” Good thing her birthday is just a couple of months away!
Fri – I got to see Rebekah! Rebekah is in town visiting with her family. She was the very first friend I ever had in NC when we moved here half way through my 4th grade year. I’d seen her in my class the 1st day and then, much to my joy, she was sitting in my primary class the first day we went to church. Bonus? She lived just down the street. Now she lives in AZ and we keep up via blogs… It was SO fun to catch up with her.

You can see our children found common interests as well!

Saturday – Ella & Morgan’s 5th birthday party!! So, normally I wouldn’t have done a larger party for Ella this year…however… Morgan’s (who’s b-day is the day before Ella’s) mom suggested we go in on a party this year and then offered to do all the activities and food if I hosted, decorated, and made a cake! DEAL!!! We had a water theme party with a mermaid cake and it was fantastic!

After the party I headed out to let my SIL know how much I love her…
Ella got to go to Bean’s house & party with cousins! They rode in the jeep (I’m told to be afraid of when Ella finally get’s her license lol), fed the horses, and gave them water. They had such a fun sleep over!

Sunday we got Ella back early and headed out to church. Afterwards, Dade started gathering his items for Scout High Adventure camp next week. He also asked for a haircut!!

I insisted he pack some extra sunscreen!! LOL
