11-7-2010 Week in Review…

So, ya wanna know the big news??

Monday – Today was Ryan’s first day at his NEW JOB!!  New job??  YEP!  But didn’t he just get a new job a few months ago??  YEP!  So this is a different new job??  YEP!!  Is it a better new job?  YES!!!  YEAH!!!  No more cleaning endless grease stains out of holey worn out uniforms, no more worrying about not being able to go to the doctor, no more wondering about when my husband is going to be home….We’re talking 9-5 M-F with benefits!  I can not even tell you how blessed we feel and how thankful we are to our Father in Heaven.  Life is good…

Tuesday – So, Corben made it into Show Choir!!  Go, Corben!!  This also means we have to be at school almost an hour earlier on Tuesdays…sigh.  But it’s worth it for him.  The girls and I then headed out to Tantrum Tamers to learn the biggest step yet in this whole program…Time Out.  Ella’s been loving all the wonderful attention she’s been getting but this section is definitely NOT her favorite.  It seems duct taping her to the time out chair is NOT in the program so I’m just going to have to keep working at it and be patient…  We’ve seen such amazing results already so I’m going to stick with it!  We got home in time to pick up Corben and head out to go vote.  Ella was an ANGEL!!  She sat on the floor beneath the booth holding onto my leg, just like I asked.  Sylvie, on the other hand…I was just lucky that she (and Corben chasing her) didn’t knock over any other voting booths or get us kicked out.  I’m sure they considered it.  We then headed straight over to pick Dade up from Wrestling (which goes until 6pm now…sigh) and got home in time for Ryan to announce he was going to vote.  He made it with minutes to spare.  Then he and I ran some errands together with no children!! YEAH!  Oh, and then the gallbladder attack started…

Wednesday – So, I’m pretty sure my gallbladder knows I’m about to have insurance so it’s getting ready to explode.  What it doesn’t know is that they’re having troubles getting some paperwork figured out and it may be until Ryan get’s back from his 2 weeks in California before they can figure it out.  How do you explain that to a gallbladder who’s been killing you for days.  Speaking of California…how fair is it that my anniversary weekend with my husband is getting cancelled because he’s going to California for training…alone…for 2 weeks…while I stay home with 4 kids…I’m not bitter…okay, a little…but just a little.  And knowing my luck, that’s when my gallbladder will explode.

Thursday – RAIN!

Ryan & I went on a date.  AFTER I finished another attack…3 days of this…sigh.  But we enjoyed our time together all the same.  I’m so blessed.

Friday – Why must I dread the weekend so.  Friday just seems to be the big open door to all the STUFF we have to do all weekend.  Photoshoots, cleaning, taking Ryan to the airport…sigh.  Oh, but guess what…I HAVE INSURANCE!! (Thanks, Honey!) First time in almost 10 years.  I’m making my list now of every ache and pain I’ve had…

My current (and yearly cold weather) vice…

1 mug

+ 6-8 oz of warm lowfat milk

+ 2 tsp Splenda

+ 2-3 tsp Eggnog Coffee-mate

+ a dash of nutmeg

= One Happy Me!!

Dade had his follow up appt and his nose is doing GREAT!  (I would hope so, since the fix it surgery only cost $15,215.20.)  I got the THIS IS NOT A BILL statement today…thank goodness it’s not a bill!!!

Then, I sat on my deck and stared at stuff…

This first picture is of this tree that always starts to change it's leaves almost a month before the rest and as soon as the first cold day arrives they all just fall onto the ground like they’ve given in.  I admittedly sometimes feel this way…and you can look at this two ways..either it’s so on top of things that it’s months ahead of the rest OR it figures…they’re all gonna fall off anyway, might as well get it over with.  I’m usually the 2nd one…

Note to future generations: despite the fact that I HATE the cold and Fall always reminds me that Summer is the farthest it can be from being here and that Winter is coming next…I want my funeral decorated in colorful fall leaves….because they are so beautiful in death…

Then, I went shopping… :)

Saturday – I’m not sure I sat down all day today.  9am photoshoot just missing the rain then rushed home to get ready for our FREE photo session that I won (thanks to a lot of you!).  So I couldn’t find anything that I liked for us to wear that matched where we were going for pictures so I gave up.  Then we rushed out…in the rain…we pulled into the park a couple of minutes late only to learn we were on the wrong side of the park…and it’s a good 15-20 minutes to get to the right side.  We were 23 minutes late to our 30 minute session.  Typical.  BUT, lucky for us, the family after us was even later! We got our full time and then some!  Then we rushed home where I grabbed my stuff and headed back out for another session…can you say “exhausted”?

Then, suddenly, I learned that I would be a terrible paparazzi…  They walked right by me and it took me like 10 minutes to get out my camera.  By then I’d missed HER but still caught a glimpse of  HIM!!

In this pic you can see just a glimpse of Mrs. Clause’s coat.  She had on a full length green coat with matching hat and Santa even had on his Christmas Crocs!  It was THEM…I know it.

When I got home, Ryan was packing for his first trip out of town with work.  Ella had built an amazing Temple but seconds before this first shot it toppled but she still gave this awesome genuine smile that makes me laugh.  The then rebuilt it better than before and asked me to take another pic.

Sunday – Time change -  Yeah!  That meant one more hour of sleep before Ryan and I sneeked out early to get him to the airport.  2 weeks!

Ella is SO upset that she and Sylvie are not in my “Marry Book” (wedding album).  They keep asking where they were and making frowning faces.  So sad/cute!

The kids spent the evening on the deck running around and drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows.  I noticed Corben stayed out after everyone came in so I peaked out and found him with his best friend from next door playing Pokemon.

I’m done…goodnight!

I am so glad that you have insurance now. Goodbye naughty ole g'bladder!
Don't feed it anything that makes it unhappy before Ryan returns.

I'm so happy for you guys!! What a relief, good job and insurance! I love the pictures of Sylvie on the deck. It's a good thing I didn't show them to Savvy, because she'd be asking why SHE doesn't have a Little Mermaid umbrella. I mean, I would just give her my usual reply--"Because I am the meanest mommy in the world."
