Happy Birthday, Terralynn!! (My sweet baby sister is One Years Old!)
So, 2 days AFTER family pictures and 1 day AFTER my husband leaves for 2 weeks I finally get in to get my hair done…YEAH! So, I decided to take a picture in the bathroom mirror which is…apparently….dirty. I washed it right after this picture, not sure why I didn’t do it in the other order. Oh, well.
Tuesday was our final day of Tantrum Tamers. I still have two interviews to go in for but I have to say I’m kind of sad. They have been such a great support and having the iPhone to remind we what to do each day was a HUGE help…I’ve been struggling without it!
Happy Birthday, Alora!! (My sweet not-so-baby sister!)
Well, it’s Wednesday and Wednesday is a lot harder with no Ryan and no Fama (my mom’s traveling). Luckily Dade thought he didn’t have scouts so he volunteered to watch the girls while I took Corben out. I’m so lucky to have such great help.
While we were out just trying to keep up on life…Ryan was out exploring San Francisco…
After a LONG week inside and not feeling well (me) I decided that despite the million and a half things that NEEDED doing we should head outside for a while. So we headed to the park with friends and family and enjoyed a beautiful day! The little ones loved Dade. He was actually carrying two kids in this first picture. Then, after Sylvie kept gouging out his eyes he insisted that she keep her arms in the air while he carried her…it was funny to me.
We then rushed over to my sister’s house to celebrate Alora’s birthday! Here’s Bean, my girls, and my sis, Naomi. Aren’t they cute?
I was actually starting to do video here but accidentally had the video camera in photo mode. This is my dad (Happy Veteren’s day Dad!) playing with the girls. They were tickling each other, it was so fun to watch them laughing so hard.
We had to leave early from the family fun but we had a great time and the girls were telling me how much they missed everyone when we left. I love having family living so close…(cough, cough…hint, hint JYMN).
Friday = my Monday...Dade overslept, missed Seminary...then he missed the bus...took him to school in a van w/no heat and tired babies wrapped in blankets...BK gave us waters but no straws (a bigger deal than it sounds)...got home to a broken pipe in the street at the end of my driveway...they have to dig it up (how will I get out?)...& someone has hid a beeping something in my computer room...Hello, Friday, I loathe you.
Okay, well it wasn’t ALL bad. I figured out pretty quick that the beeping was Dade’s Annoy-a-tron so I decided not to let it bug me…though it would have made me nuts had I not known what it was. Ended up that fixing the road didn’t mean they had to completely block me in (not that I had anywhere to go…really). Plus the kids got to watch all this excitement out the window and it kept them busy for a few hours.
THEN I had the coolest idea EVER!! I went outside and asked if I could have a big chunk of the road they’d pulled up. I’m making a little street sign for it that says “Corben’s Way” and attaching it to the road and giving it to Corben so he can never say he never get’s his own way…bwuahahahahaha… He actually thought it was pretty awesome, too!
Ella’s buildings are starting to get very balanced. Each day she makes a million more but they’re all perfectly balanced on each side…I think she get’s that from me.
Then it was time for…THE PRINCESS (and a Prince) PARTY!! I had my niece and nephew overnight while their parents got to celebrate their anniversary (See, Jymn/Shelby, on the kind of fun stuff you’re missing out on?? I mean, who wants to own property in Utah when you could have THIS!…no pressure…) Anyway, we had a full day of tea parties and fun and then a sleepover in the living room with a castle and more princess movies than anyone over 4 could stand! It was so great!
Saturday started early, as usual. It was so cold out but I was out with a family in the wee hours of the morning.
In the mean time, Ryan was out enjoying all the things I’ve ever wanted to do in California…without me. Here he is in the redwood forest…
Oh, and here he is at SOME bridge that I didn’t REALLY want to see…(at least his eyes are closed in this picture so I can half believe that he didn’t really see it…he just let the guys lead him around with them but kept his eyes closed so he could fully enjoy it with me someday…right? RIGHT???)…anyway…I’m not bitter…
And then he went to ALKATRAZ….I want to go on a business trip!!
Back at home I was cleaning and doing laundry and hand scrubbing floors and toilets…okay maybe not ALL day (or maybe not at all…:P). I did get to enjoy time with my sister and squeeze in another shoot…
Had our first full day of church today and, despite my not feeling well again, it went rather well. My mom came to visit for the afternoon (we missed her ALOT) and then Corben decided to make a cake from scratch. He ran out of white flour so he used wheat and I have to say it’s pretty good! Way to go, Corben!
Okay, and here’s a miracle that you won’t see anywhere else, folks! It’s Dade and Corben in the same room, getting along, for more than 5 minutes, AND they actually WANT to be there!! Since Dade’s been on the wrestling team, Corben’s been asking for pointers (he trained for almost 45 minutes with Dade tonight) and Dade (always ready to pound his brother) is more than willing to do it. I keep peeking in around the corner suggesting they end it while everyone is still uninjured (Corben’s usually in some sort of headlock) but they insist they can keep going and they do. They’ve been doing this for several nights now and having a blast. Guys are so weird.
The End
