4-27-08 Week in Review

Wow, another busy week gone and another week closer to our trip to California to see Ryan's family! I'm so excited!!!! (singing outloud with gusto....."California, hear I come!....")

Anyway, Monday was Family Home Evening (our weekly family night where we have a spiritual lesson, snacks and a fun activity). We ate cookies and played the Wii for hours. (We're borrowing it from Ryan's brother - thanks Mark & Jamie!) Tuesday was uneventful, other than I wasn't feeling super good, but we managed to get our Walton Feed order done! Yeah! (We're attempting to gather at least a 3 months supply of the basics we eat in case of emergency.) Wednesday, I spent the day with my dear friend Tanya who is expecting a baby girl very soon. We hung out at Babies R Us and had lunch. I bought the BEST bib!! It has sleeves and ties in the back! Well worth the $3.99 it cost. I'll save that much in laundry and new clothes, easy! My mom came and took Dade to scouts and took Corben out for some baseball practice. (They canceled practice on Tues due to rain.) He had so much fun with her! Thursday was busy. With a little instruction from Mom I was able to pull together a great dinner for the Elders (missionaries) who were coming for dinner. Pot roast, Salad, rolls and guacamole. YUM! Corben had baseball practice so I missed the meal. We got back minutes after they had left, but Ryan said it went well - thanks mom! Corben's practice went great! They did a mock game and Corben hit a triple his first time at bat! He was so excited. The real games start next week. They got their uniforms. Corben was so excited that he's worn it a few times already! Later, after the kids went to bed, Ryan pulled out a car racing game for the wii. He doesn't usually like video games but car ones are the obvious exception. Let's just say I finally went to bed and when I woke up an hour later I went downstairs and he was still playing. After 4 hours he had almost beat the entire game and was having a blast. I do have to say he's very good at those kinds of games. Friday I babysat my nephew RJ and kept Corben home from school. He was dealing with his CVS (cyclic vomiting syndrome). It's gotten a bit better over the last year so I'm hoping he's growing out of it (knock on wood). The kids were great and all took naps right on time so I was able to go and take some pictures of RJ outside (see previous post). We saw rabbits! I found out that the pile of sticks we've made for the burn pit has been converted into a rabbit hole! Ryan's out side now trying to catch them on film. About 7pm Ryan and Dade headed out for a boyscout camp out and a 10 mile hike Saturday morning. Corben and I stayed up late playing the wii. (My sports fitness age was 77 and Corben's was 60!...I'm so old....I OBVIOUSLY need some practice.) We had a lot of fun. Saturday, while the guys were out walking all along Falls Lake Corben and I were readying the house for company. The boy's grandma (Mom-mom), Aunt and cousin drove down from Maryland to visit with them for the weekend. It's been several years since we've seen them and it was so great to catch up and see how much all the kids have grown. Tyler (my nephew) has turned in to quite the young man. I really wish we all lived closer! Later my mom and Mark & Jamie stopped by so we had a full house and we loved it! Today I woke up (did I ever sleep?) not feeling well. Sylvie had kept me up most of the night and it was a rough morning. The boys were out with family and I was sick so we decided to keep it close to home today. Ryan made me breakfast and then took Ella outside for some fun in the yard. (I love our yard.) Well, that's it for today, I'm going to go take some medicine and try to feel better. Have a great day!
