Monday – well, it’s finally time to live life as it is now. No Dade. Have to admit it’s a lot harder. Granted I also don’t have Corben or Ryan to help me out this week but I was prepared mentally for them to be on their trips…not so much with Dade.
Anyway, here’s the girls all cute with Collin. He looks fuzzy because he was trying to get away laughing so hard.
Ella’s class spent part of the day working on balance experiments. They had to use wire, clothes pins, a pencil, and a popsicle stick to form a balanced mobile. Didn’t they do a great job?! (Photo credit – Ella’s Teacher!)
Sylvie was bored with no one else at home so she made a Hello Kitty puppet theatre! It’s pretty amazing. She even filled it with rocks and grass to make it real.
Collin is having a bit of a time adjusting, as well, to the lack of his Baby Whisperer brother and has screamed and cried all day. I haven’t been able to put him down, so out of exasperation I posted on Facebook that I’d love for someone to come hold my baby. I was 99% joking. That 1% became 100% as soon as my dear friend, Kristina, offered to come hold him. She came right over (at 11pm) and I got so much done! The house was a disaster after an entire week of shopping, packing, and stressing. I am so blessed to have such good friends.
Tuesday I had 2 doctor appts. First I had to go and sit while they tested my glucose again. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to be rid of that dreaded diabetes! I then had an appt to have my hernia looked at. I got it when I was prego with Corben but it wasn’t bad, just ugly. Between my gallbladder surgery and having Collin, though, it got dangerous. I let Sylvie play with my phone to help with the wait. Doc told me I needed it fixed right away but agreed to wait 30 days so I could get Collin to take a bottle and try to freeze enough milk supply for a few days since Collin won’t be able to nurse after my anesthesia. Ugh.
The FABULOUS Rachel (our neighbor) came and played with the girls to help me out for the evening. They played school. Ella was the teacher & Rachel got in trouble. lol She was written up and reported to the principal.
Finally got to get a nice, long phone conversation with Dade. Classes have started (he has 11 text books!) and he's making a ton of new friends. You know the food must be good when two teenage boys tell you there is not a single food item you need to bring them. This is a picture of Dade’s boys hall and sister hall. You can see him in the back left.
Wednesday Dade was already hurting for some stuff he left at home. I took him his new backpack and laptop cover, clothes, and some snacks for him and his roommate. It was weird only seeing him for a moment before he had to leave. Guess I’m lucky he’s close enough I can drive over and see him at all.
Sylvie’s at a loss for things to do all day so I gave her my camera again…
When Ella got home, she was papparazzied…She was yelling, Sylvie STOP FOLLOWING ME! Leave me alone! lol
Thursday while Ella was enjoying meeting a new Crab friend…
I was hanging with friends at a Pampered Chef show. I then came home and convinced Sylvie that cleaning in your swimsuit makes it fun! She totally fell for it.
More Sylvie with my phone time…
Friday Ella had early release so Sylvie was pretty happy about that.
Saturday it was time to get ready for everyone coming home that night and for Corben’s birthday tomorrow! My awesome neighbor, Rachel, who makes amazing cakes came over to help me make a dog cake for Corben (his request). She did all the fondant work. Didn’t it turn out amazing??!!
That night we rushed to the airport to pick up GGma, mom & Corben @ 8 and then were supposed to come back around to get Ryan at 9. WELL, Corben’s plane was late and GGma moves at a slightly slower rate than everyone else so when Ryan’s plane showed up early I knew I was in for trouble. There just wasn’t room in the van so I had to whiz mom and GGma over to her house and then come back to get Ryan. I felt terrible since he’s been flying for almost 24 hrs. I then found out he’d flown the entire way in First Class!! So I didn’t feel as badly. :) I’ll be blogging both of their trips separately here soon.
Sunday was Corben’s Birthday!! He’s 12!!
We got the biggest surprise after church when Corben told me Grandpa was stopping by for a bit. Boy was I surprised to find out it was Grandpa E.! (They live a couple of hours away!) What a wonderful way to spend a birthday!
They brought Corben an awesome boat and then my sisters dressed Ella up.
After our wonderful visit with my sisters, we headed over to visit with Dade. He was supposed to stay on campus the first few weekends so we took Corben’s cool cake to him! It was a nice visit, hard for me, but nice.
