Happy 4th of July!!! We started out with a pancake breakfast at a local park with family and friends. Thanks, Cassie & Jason for the invite!
The kids had a great time getting Uncle Jason to swing them…then Ryan hooked up with one of his best friends growing up (and the couple responsible for Ryan & I meeting) and they swung their kids together…so sweet….awwwwwww.
Doesn’t Cassie just fit right into our family?? :)
Then, Corben headed out to an awesome sleepover and Ryan & the girls (and I) headed to the local fireworks show…where it was raining…and windy….our van bench seat is hidden under this tarp. These sweet girls you see here go to church with us and were helping Ella & Sylvie overcome their fears about storms. Thanks, ladies! -- Officials had us all go sit in our cars to wait out the storm but we were finally able to see the show at 9:45!! It was fantastic!
Ryan took Sylvie to his “stylist” this morning to get her first official haircut. I laid down strict guidelines and less than an inch was removed to get rid of frayed ends and even out her hair. The little curls were placed in an envelope and sent home to me…so little removed yet her hair just doesn’t seem to curl the same…sigh.
The girls painted shirts & hats for themselves today, watched Rapunzel 4 times (Sylvie was feeling a little yucky), and just hung out.
I took the kids to our night at the library only to get stuck there in the worst downpour EVER. It was so loud inside the library from the rain that I had to shout to read books to the girls. Luckily we had pizza already waiting for us in the car (still warm thanks to the heat) so our evening ended well.
Ella had her 5 year check up. 40 lbs and 42 inches. I had them take a look at Sylvie since she’d been complaining of a sore throat and then suddenly broke out in a rash…Strep?? Nope. Fifth Disease! Now that she has the rash she’s NOT contagious anymore…sigh. Explains the cold symptoms. Had to make some calls. Probably caught it at the pool last week. Her cousins came down with some weird stuff, too. Glad it’s not worse!
We spent the evening with Fama at Chucky Cheese’s!! We then went and picked up Dade from my brother’s house after his fun week at Wrestling Camp!
Our TV’s been out for some time…weeks even…we got Netflix to work on the Wii today. YIPPEE!!!
Nothing like a trip to the local kids museum to fill in the Summer!!
For a fun weekend we picked up my sister’s kids for a few days!! We LOVE having them visit and they were SO good at church and everywhere we went! I love having them so close…
