So, this week mostly consisted of me taking care of a sick baby and trying to finish the million things I needed to get done.
Our week started out with a sick Sylvie. Luckily it was mostly a fever but she clung to me all day long. She felt better by the next day so I went ahead and took her to her 3 year wellbaby appt. My little girl is in the 50% for height and 25% for weight. They gave her two shots, which she took like a trooper and then we headed home. By evening she was complaining that her legs hurt. Sure enough in the morning she was running a high fever and wouldn’t/couldn’t walk. It lasted a couple of days but she did eventually feel better. Good thing since it was her day to go with Fama to scouts!
Dade’s joined the wrestling team at school so we had to go out and try to find sized 13 wrestling shoes (which only came in the REALLY expensive brands) and figure out how he’s going to work a daily run into his schedule. I’m proud and excited for him though. He’s needed to get into a sport and since his dad wrestled Dade’s had the idea to do this for years. I look forward to watching him succeed!
Thursday brought on the start of Autumn though you’d never know it by the heat outside. It was a busy day for me as we ran to Chapel Hill to see if Ella qualified for a paid study (she did!). So now they’re going to pay me to try out a new discipline program. Out of all my kids, Ella was the focus only because she falls into the age range they’re studying. As soon as I got back I dropped the kids off and rushed to my first meeting with the high school PTSA where I am now the Vice President!! I know, I’m crazy, but it feels right.
The girls had an early morning playgroup trip to Petco. I really enjoy taking them on all the fieldtrips we do with our group. The funniest part was when one of the lizards being held by a store employee jumped onto a little boy’s head and then from there onto a little girl’s face!! She handled it like a pro though and just stood there until the staff removed it. Where’s my camera when I need it?? Dade headed out that night for an overnight campout and canoeing trip. Ryan took the rest of us out for dinner at Golden Corral. The kids ate until they made themselves sick.
Saturday was a great day to celebrate the Anniversary of two of my favorite people!! I LOVE you Jessica and am SO SO SO glad you are a part of our family. You only made it better!
I spent the day running to photoshoots, birthday parties, picking kids up from campouts, painting the deck, emptying the pool, cleaning my house, and being in a very hormonal mood, not that you wanted to know that part….
I missed the RS broadcast because of a million things but one was that while I was getting ready and grumbling over how nothing fit right my little Sylvie came in and said, “Is it too small? Is it for small mommies and you’re a big mommy?” Well, THAT didn’t help at all and so when, a moment later, my attention was drawn to some things that needed getting done asap, I decided I should do them. I figured I’d go late but that never happened. I wish I’d gone, I sure needed it.
So now it’s the Sabbath and we just finished feeding the missionaries and Dade’s back from his youth fireside. I’m now going to go and shave Dade’s hair at his request…guess the long hair is too much to manage when you’re a busy guy like him!
