Mon – library, walmart, park, dr, bj’s, pharmacy, snore…..
We picked a super hot day and ran all the errands we could fit. Library & Walmart, then we headed to the park….which was closed….so we went to another….that had no play equipment….so we headed across town to my old favorite and as soon as we pulled in Sylvie announced that she’d soaked her car seat….sigh. LUCKILY my mom works near by and just happened to have a bag of toddler clothes in the trunk that my SIL asked her to take to Goodwill. Talk about a blessing! So Sylvie picked out a cute pair of green overalls and we headed to the park.
Tuesday I needed a breather so I headed outside to hear myself think….BUT it was SO LOUD outside I couldn’t! I realized it must be the cicada’s and wondered if we’d find any shells today….then I looked straight ahead….literally 3 feet in front of me stuck on the car tire was a shell! So I took the girls out in the yard for a hunt and we found 3 in just a few minutes! Ella also picked me some wonderful flowers!
Wednesday I taught a photo class at church….Dade took his Camera (he wasn’t in my class) and took some fun ones of his own…..
Thursday we grabbed the cousins and headed to a fun museum downtown!! We had SO much fun!
These two are especially funny because Jessica (my SIL) works at Lowes Foods….

For some reason, under pressure, I couldn’t remember how to make a monkey face….this was not it….Tammy’s Lion was pretty rockin’ though.

Friday was shop for school clothes day and Ella was grumpy because we made her sit in the cart and then started laughing when her hair was super staticy and sticking up in every direction…of course, my camera phone couldn’t pick up the crazy hair but you can see how she felt about it! lol
Saturday started the BIG project…A DECK!! YEAH! It’s kind of big….I’m SO excited!
Sun – Tues…..lost forever in the forgetfulness of my mind….oh wait, Dade went to the dentist on Tues….I know….exciting.
Wednesday I realized that our summer is almost over so we headed out to the one big request Corben had for our summer. The most expensive but totally fun and worth the trip museum EVER.
We dug for fossils….found lots of shells & shark teeth…..
We saw huge dinosaurs….
We saw bears, wolves, lemurs, and butterflies….(photos by Dade)
Then, due to time crunch we let the big kids go into the museum and the grownups stayed outside with the little ones. Sylvie LOVED the water area. She got SOAKED!
Though she looks like it, Ella did NOT play in the water….it was simply that hot out…..
While we were outside getting cooled off, Dade, B, & Corben were inside building cool things!
When we got back from our long day we found that Ryan had gotten off of work early and was hard at work on the deck. He and Dade headed out to pick up the decking boards….about a half mile into their trip home THIS happened!!
Thursday was another trip to the dentist and some time with Dade. My fab SIL watched my kids for me. We sure love having her and the kids around!
On Friday the boys headed out for a week with their dad. Since it was FRIDAY THE 13th it seemed only proper that some friends and I should get together and master our THRILLER DANCE skills. We rocked it…..I’m just sayin’…..
I also got to pick up the new Mindy Gledhill CD today. I really love her music, it makes me want to dance through a park like I’m in some sort of musical….so here’s the songs for the week…..Crazy Love is my favorite….today….tomorrow it will probably be Anchor or All the Pennies….

Saturday I got to spend some much needed time with my Sister and then some great time with my family (the ones who are still in town.) Ryan took us all out for Chinese! I tried a tiny piece of chicken. But look at Ella!! (sorry it’s blurry) Who is this kid? How can she just eat ANYTHING you sit in front of her? She amazes me.
Oh, that reminds me…..earlier this week I mixed up Ella & Sylvie’s sandwiches. Ella only has one food she claims to not like….Jelly. Well there is was, all over her sandwich. Sylvie had already scarfed down Ella’s sandwich so I asked Ella to just TRY it. She took a tiny bite and so I asked her to take another and she did. When I asked her to try to eat more, she calmly ate the entire thing and then announced that she really does like Jelly! (I don’t know how she does it….)
Sunday we had the Elders over (our church missionaries). The two young men are very young and very kind. Ella napped the entire time so Sylvie had all of the attention. She was quite excited about the company. She began talking…and talking…and talking. When she’d run out of things to say she’d say, “….SSSOOOOOOO……this is our TV….aaaannnnddddd….I’m a princess….” etc. She never stopped! At supper she sat by one of the Elders and giggled the entire time she wasn’t talking. It was so cute and the Elders talked so kindly with her. If she wasn’t two I’d sworn she had a crush. Well, suddenly it was apparent she was running out of things to talk about because she brought up the fact that SHE’S POTTY TRAINED!! She mentioned going #1 & #2….I mentioned to her that we don’t talk about that at the table and she seemed a little embarrassed and got down from the table…only to come down the stairs with her new underwear to show them! I laughed but quickly informed her that we don’t show our underwear to boys. The look on her face was HORROR. She ran up the stairs, hid and started sobbing. Ryan had to carry her back down and she hid her face in his shoulder until the Elders left despite their many tries to let her know it was alright. One of them gave her a picture of Jesus and after they left she hugged it close. I think I’m in trouble with this one!!
