8-1-2010 Week in Review…

I forgot this to post this picture of Corben & Christian’s Empire State Building.  They asked me to make it grey for them.

So, Dade is walking around the house smelling EVERYTHING.  And I do mean everything.  Pencils, my shirt,…the printer…  Apparently his nose just cleared up enough for the first time in his life and he realized that things have a scent!  It’s so funny to watch him running around and making big eyes every time he smells something new!  So, at least we know there’s been some success with his surgery!  He’s very worried now that he’ll be distracted in school by the way everyone smells.  LOL

Why, oh Why, oh Why would my gallbladder wait until my husband is in another state to decide to attack me?  Seriously, Ryan spent several hours on the phone with me in the middle of the night trying to distract me from the pain.  I did finally get a little rest but it’s gonna be a bland diet for some time until I’m over the anxiety of it all.  The only way to describe the pain is to say it feels like someone is hitting you across the back with a tire iron while someone else sits on your chest, crushing you, and the next one has a grip on your ribs and is trying to pull them outward, all while your chest is on fire.  Add nausea, some dizziness, and feeling like you may just pass out and you pretty much have it.  Nothing makes it go away, you can’t sit different, pain meds don’t touch it.  You just have to wait until it passes.  Could be 30 minutes, could be 4 hours….  I’m not touching ANYTHING with fat, grease, whatever!   Today consisted of one bowl of Honey Nut cheerios and 2 bowls of Frosted Flakes…  I made supper and Corben asked why I wasn’t eating since he knew the pasta I made was one of my favorites.  Sorry, creamy cheese sauces are off the list.  sigh.

I can’t wait until this is me….

The rest of the day was spent recovering.  I did get the kids to the library for a bit and both Dade & Corben spent time with friends.  Guess it wasn’t a complete waste of a day.  I also managed a conference call with my Picky Eaters (we’re trying to come up with another name) group.  We’re trying to come up with a logo for our sight that covers the wide range of differences we picky eaters face.  Not so easy.

Today I found THIS in my kitchen.  Actually, it was only minutes after I had cleaned up the stove and I was coming back to grab this pan…..

Yep, it’s a Black Widow!! EEWWW!!  (Here’s the pic zoomed in so you can get really creeped out!)

So, I decided to straighten Sylvie’s hair today.  It was gorgeous!  Ella wouldn’t let me go near her with a curling iron but I tried.

We went outside to play and all the straightness lasted about 5 minutes in the humidity.  Oh well.  (Now, the vast majority of you do not know my good friend Rae B. but my mom and I both think that Sylvie resembles her.  This is one of those photos…..)

See Thelma…..our neighbor’s dog….

See Sylvie wanting, trying to get to know Thelma…..

See how Sylvie really feels! LOL

The girls LOVE our neighbors….so do I. :)

See all this grey piping?  I’m so happy it’s sitting on my weeds lawn because that means it’s no longer in my house.  This all that crazy plumbing that was recalled a million years ago that no one ever took out of our home before they sold it to us.  It leaks.  A lot.  We have a good explosion about once a month and Ryan was finally tired of fixing it over and over and over and over.  So, he and his Dad spent an entire day ripping every bit of it out of the lower story and under the house and replacing it with stuff that will last….hopefully longer.  The upstairs needs done but that requires opening up walls and I don’t think we’re ready for that yet…..

Now it’s Sunday and I’m going to go rest!  Oh yeah, and eat some of this…..

Made from fresh wheat ground by my own kids with this….

Life is good….and yummy…..

I totally see my resemblance with Sylvie, which is totally okay with me because I think she is DARLING. I hope your solution to the bad pipes holds up until you're ready to open walls! :) I'm happy for Dade and his new smella. ;)

I think you should shed that faulty GB of yours so that you "can live happily ever after." There is nothing to that surgery any more!
Good Luck.
