6-20-2010 Week in Review

This week is called….Potty Training…..as you read on about my less detailed than usual, less picturesque blog….just remember….we’re Potty Training…..ugh….

Well, our Blackberries are in!! Yeah! Want some? Come and get them, but you better hurry!  We have a ton but the birds get them and they don’t last long.  So, what do you do with Blackberries after you pick them?  (If you have any left in the bucket after you pick with small children around)  We made lots of things!  The best were Blackberry juice and a Blackberry Pie!  YUM!!

The boys both had their yearly physicals this week and are healthy as can be and growing strong.  No surprise, Dade is in the 90% range for height at a towering 5’ 9 3/4’’.  Corben, to his surprise is closer to average than he thought. :)  Thank you to all my wonderful family who helped watch the other children while we were gone!

We got to visit with cousins this week and go to their neighborhood pool, YEAH!  It was the perfect end to the day as it completely wore out BOTH girls…..

DCIM\100SPORTDCIM\100SPORTDCIM\100SPORT Friday brought more cousin time and Dade off babysitting and then to a sleep over.  We had a ton to do that day because Saturday was PACKED!!

It started early with cleaning the church, then some of us headed to one of Ella’s friend’s birthday parties at the pool!

Ella has turned out to be quite the FISH!!  She LOVES being under the water!  (It’s too bad that Dad decided to sell our beloved boat this week…. :(  He and Sylvie took it for a “Spin” in the yard to say goodbye…..okay, it wasn’t on, but she had fun….)

Anyway, we got home in time to finish cleaning the house and get ready for a great visit from my Dad and the family.  They brought Ella a wonderful gift that she hasn’t stopped using since….I can’t keep her away if I tried.  She got a new easel and she LOVES it….LOVES it….  Sadly it was a short visit because Ryan was whisking me off on a surprise date….YEAH!!  We were headed to Virginia in no time and made it only slightly late to see the Races.  I LOVE the races.  The best part for Ryan was that he could, for once, actually enjoy them with out any worries of the work he’d have the next week if one of his engines blew up on the track.  As a nice tribute, though, 2 of the lead cars still were running on his engines and one of them won the final race.  I know he claims that his engine had nothing to do with it, but I know that’s not true and it makes me proud to see his hard work paying off for someone.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!

Despite having sold his beloved boat this week (here’s the vultures circling it….he made sure to have more than one buyer there at a time to get the best price….)

Anyway, despite having lost his sweet boat, Ryan was more than happy to take the money and put it in his new gift from Dade….
