Okay, so I'm behind, but I have a million good excuses. I think the last few weeks have been some of the busiest of my life!! Anyway, here's the Reader's Digest version.....okay, so it's more like an entire issue but if you're not used to that from me, oh well........
Monday 5-4 -- Clean house, baseball practice (he was on fire!!)
Tuesday 5-5 -- Clean house, Corben fieldtrip, Relief Society temple trip where we never made it to the temple but instead ended up hanging out in the church baptismal font while the tornados (well actually just funnel clouds) went by. We did get to see some great lightening, amazing clouds, and sea green sky.
Lightening pics by my brother Jason - but this is the same view I had.
Me, ND & LN hanging out in the font!! Thanks KB for the pic!
Wednesday 5-6 -- Clean house, Photo shoot with the kids (see previous post), last Photography class (I was asked by the instructor to help him out on an upcoming wedding!), and both boys to Scouts. Oh, yes, and Ryan and a friend went and picked up a new playhouse for the girls...pics to come.
Thursday 5-7 -- Corben fieldtrip, Parent/teacher meeting at Dade's school, clean house.
Friday 5-8 -- Playgroup at the lake, Corben Dr. appt., Ryan Dr. appt, Corben's 1st baseball game rained out, NEW COUNTERTOPS!! (Which is extra great since I've had NO countertops now for a week....and no sink...or dishwasher...etc, etc.)
Saturday 5-9 -- My fabulous SIL graduated with her DPT!! Go RACHEL!! We drove to Greenville for her graduation. Came home and worked on the kitchen, cleaned house, went by a friend's b-day party, and finally got to BJ's!
Sunday 5-10 -- MOTHER"S DAY!! Corben got up early and worked on a wonderful rainbow poster for me. I was a nervous wreck as it was the first time my primary kids were going to sing in front of the entire congregation!! They sang a beautiful "duet" with their moms. I had the kids come up front and their mom's just sang from their seats. It was so beautiful. I then lead the music for almost 2 hours straight while the other Primary leaders helped the kids with a fun gift for mom. It was surely a day full of music!! After church we headed of to my SIL to celebrate a wonderful afternoon with Ryan's mom who was visiting from CA. His baby sister also surprised everyone with a visit this week so the entire family was around. It was so great.
Monday 5-11 -- Clean house...see a pattern here??, Corben appt., Family pictures by Ryan's dad, Schneg family dinner (we missed a Baseball game).
Some of my favorite moments from the shoot.....
Here are some pics of all the Schneg women I love!!
Tuesday 5-12 -- Clean house, Ella appt., My mom came over to get her Mommy's day gift and early b-day present since she was headed out of town for a week. My mom has a bit of an addiction to Chick-fil-A Sauce. She goes every few days and orders a salad and several packets of sauce. She then rations her sauce over the next few days using it on her veggies and chicken at home. So, for Mother's Day I presented her with this poem....
It’s Mother’s Day and time to give you something that you need
But since this gift is from me, of course, it’s different, yes indeed.
I thought real hard and spent much time pondering your gift
And I finally came up with something very hard to lift
And so I made a few calls and Jason, he helped, too
“We can help you,” they each said, “But can we just ask you…
What it is you need this for? This request is quite bizarre.”
And then the manager he helped me get it in my car.
I know that you are wondering, what could this odd gift be?
A hint: I thought we should follow the council given on TV.
From prophets and apostles, they’ve said it time and time again.
So this gift is something to help you stay in good with them.
Because they will be happy if they found out what you’ve done
You’ve built up quite a food supply, there’s wheat buckets by the ton
So in staying with the spirit of food storage here today…….
…….I present to you your year supply of sauce from Chick-fil-A.
I then handed her a huge case filled with 360 packets of Chick-fil-A sauce!!
Wednesday 5-13 -- Ella appt., Boys had Scouts. Ryan started putting in the slate backsplash in the kitchen. The tile saw was going until almost 1 am. I'm surprised the neighbors didn't come to kill us. It's BEAUTIFUL though. My husband did an amazing job!!
Thursday 5-14 -- Got up WAY before my usual time and headed out with Ella to the hospital for her ear tube surgery. She had a lot of fun waiting. They dressed her in a cute gown. She played with toys, read books, played on the computer, and watched Dora. They let her decorate the mask they'd use for anesthesia with stickers. Finally, just before taking her back they gave her something they call Giggle Juice. They told me that some kids get drowsy and some get silly but that it helps keep them calm. Ella's kicked in rather quick. She was sitting there looking up at me as her eyes glazed over. She then gave a silly grin and, loud enough for the nurses to hear, said, "I Happy!!" and then promptly fell over. She was fine, just a little giddy. She smiled as they rolled her off to surgery. She was hugging her bunny tight. As happy as she was to go to surgery, she was quite the opposite coming OUT of anesthesia. They warned me that some kids are upset but that was an understatement. Ella was inconsolable and screamed and flailed for over an hour. She finally fell asleep and was back to her sweet self when she woke up. We haven't noticed much difference in her other than I've caught her covering her ears a few times when loud noises happen and she's startled once or twice when Sylvie screams. ------ Directly after surgery, we left the hospital, picked up Sylvie from the sitter and then headed over to pick up Corben for a dr. appt. We got home just in time for Dade to get home and then I was called out on a friend emergency (Thanks NN for saving me and watching the kids!) that took up much of the evening. I finished up and grabbed the kids just in time to get home and turn around to run Corben to his baseball game. He did an amazing job and actually hit the ball his one time up at bat (we were late to the game) and made it to 3rd base!! We got home in time to fall into bed......
Ella can't get water in her ears so we've been using cotton.
Oh, and before we forget....HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ISIS!! (my very cute niece)
Friday 5-15 -- I accomplished nothing but being exhausted.....oh, and my fabulous SIL came to visit before heading back home to UT. We took a quick trip to find me some sunglasses....no real luck but we did have fun!!
Saturday 5-16 -- Lawn mowed, garden replanted, playhouse primed for painting, house tidied up a bit, laundry almost caught up, children fed & bathed.
On a side note....today Ella ate: 6 pancakes, 1 sandwich, 1 hotdog, & 2 chicken breasts. That does not include snacks and drinks. Dade could barely keep up.
Sunday 5-17 -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! -- And then this is what I just found when I went to get a certain child from her nap....
What a way to end the week....
