3-15-2009 Week in Review

Monday started off with a miracle. The girls had an appt. that I usually dread going to because we're usually there a total of 3 hours and they're usually crazy. (Same place Ella wet on me that one time.) Anyway, I forgot the double stroller so I took Ella in the single stroller and put Sylvie on the harness. They were ANGELS!! Everyone kept commenting on how well behaved and cute they were! It was weird...nice, but weird (I usually get the cute part but not the well behaved part). Then as we were leaving this random man outside said, "Well behaved children! Now that's what I like to see!" Who would have ever thought!! Way to go Ella & Sylvie!!

Tuesday we had well baby check ups. Sylvie is doing fantastic and according to the charts is VERY tall yet with a very low weight. She doesn't strike me as the tall and slender type but who am I to argue with the chart. They evaluated Ella's speech and have decided to connect us with a speech therapist. Ella's starting to talk really well but she's still pretty hard to understand if you don't live with her.

Wednesday, the boys' dad was in town. I told Corben but didn't tell Dade he was coming. I was very impressed that Corben kept the secret. Dade was shocked when his dad pulled up and even more surprised when he found out he was going to spend the night with him at his grandparents' house. They only get to see him a couple times a year, if that, so time with their dad is precious. Corben stayed home and spent the evening with my mom and at scouts. He was really good about letting Dade go first. They switch off nights they spend with their dad so they can each get one on one attention and only miss one day of school each.

Thursday, CJ came back and picked up Corben. He was SO excited, to say the least. I spent Thursday looking for 4 leaf clovers in the rain. I have a pretty good knack for finding them and since my yard is a clover field, practically, I don't have to go far to look. Ryan's sister, Rachel, and I braved the cold and the rain and found 25 in about an hour. I'd already found about 45 on Tues & Wednesday so we set to pressing them and laminating them to give to my Primary kids and to Ella's friends in her playgroup. I love having Rachel around. She's so much fun and always great company!

Saturday, the boys spent the day with their dad playing laser tag and ending the day with a trip to see the Monster Truck show. Ryan & I got to run errands with just the girls and started our search for the perfect counter tops. I'm actually getting new cupboards soon and Ryan's decided to go all out and redo the entire kitchen. I even got new stainless steel pans and a rack to hang them on!! We ended the day with a trip to my BIL's house for a Redneck Birthday party!! What a blast! Everyone dressed up and the trailer birthday cake was delicious. We all had our mug shots taken and were given fake names for the evening. There were twinkies and Redneck white elephant gifts. (Pictures to come) Thanks, Mark & Jamie for a fun evening! My mom was gracious enough to watch the girls for us so we actually got to enjoy our night with NO KIDS!!

Sunday we were blessed to get to take 2 children to church with us. They have been getting the missionary discussions from the Elders and were a little more ready than their mom to come to church. They're great kids and really had a great time at church. So much so that they asked if they could come again. Their mom is great. I pray she decides to come with them next time!

Okay, so that's it. No pictures, nothing funny....(hopefully I'll get the redneck one's up here soon). But don't worry....I really spent the week laughing with my siblings on Facebook. That conversation is in the post below....but is NOT for a certain Female Family Member....just so I warned ya!
