AND I’ve done it again. Blogged. Yes, it’s 3 weeks late but it’s still January of the same year so I’m not far off. I will tell you that I’m taking a lot of LONG videos of my kids. I realized last year I don’t have as much video as I’d like so I’m taking more. It may bore you to death or take up your entire evening to watch so I’m not offended if you just glance through the pics. I often take pics while videoing so those are included and should cover things for you skimmers. :D
This week: Dade has been working on College applications and the girls have been on Track Out…
Monday my poor Sister Cassie was sick so I headed out early to walk my nephew, Jasper. :) Ryan took the girls out to Lowe’s for a few hours and we just hung out and enjoyed our day.
Tuesday it was SO cold. How cold? 9 degrees with a wind chill of –7!! They delayed school a couple of hours so the poor kids wouldn’t freeze at the bus stops. The last time it was this cold was the winter before Corben was born. I walked Jasper again this morning and had a great chat with Cassie. BRRRRRRRRRR
I took the girls to GOODWILL for some clothes shopping FOR ME! $70 later and I came out with 12 tops, 4 pants, a jacket, and some clothes for the girls. Well worth the time! Ryan worked from home so he was thankful for the quiet house.
Dade had a youth activity at church. A great friend snagged some pics for me! :)
Ella says the bandana makes him look like he has Angry Eyes! lol
Then Ryan and I were discussing how we were going to be getting all new furniture for the house and that our bedroom furniture was probably the only stuff we’d save…then he walked over and sat and the bed…and it broke. I LIE NOT!! Luckily he’s handy dandy and we have awesome friends with woodworking tools so it’s now stronger than before but we did sleep in the Living room for one night to let it set. Too funny (at least it is now).
Wednesday while Dade was on splits with the Elders and Corben was at Scouts, Mom’s cousin, Kathy, came for a visit and made caramel popcorn with the girls!

Thursday I woke to a sweet baby dancing in his crib. He just LOVES any and all music so much!
Ella fell a few days ago and hit her ear on the corner of a stair…
About 4:15 I noted that Corben wasn’t home from school yet. I drove up to the bus stop but he wasn’t there. I asked some kids nearby if they’d seen him or the bus but they’d only been there a few minutes. At this point I always get nervous. Is the bus late or did something happen to him when he got off? I checked the late bus notifications and there were none. I called the school – no answer. By this time it was 4:45 and he’d been out of school since 2:25. I was pretty freaked out and getting ready to start some freaked out calls when the bus pulled up. RELIEF!…until I found out why he was late: He’d been under his desk on lock down. I finally got a call from the school about 7:30 pm. Apparently I needed to be on Twitter to have gotten a notification that something was going on since the school system didn’t put it up on their FB notification page, home page, or the late bus notifications. Ugh.

Friday -
So Corben was an hour late getting home from school yesterday because he was in a classroom with his head down under a desk along with his bus driver and the parents and siblings in carpool...and today I have to drive him back over there and pray this man is done with his shooting spree. Extra prayers they catch him soon, please!
I did get to go to lunch with a great friend today! I don’t get to do that often and it was so needed!!
Saturday we had tornado WARNINGs all morning and Ella was pretty traumatized by our time in the pantry. So was I. I was pretty convinced it was safer out of there. Many very stressed kids in a tiny confined space (with projectiles) is not recommended for your health, I’m sure.
Once it cleared up we went to see Frozen with Cassie! Ironically, we sweated through the entire movie but the theater gave us free tickets to make up for it! :D
In the mean time Dade was having fun with Maddie:
I know we're a little bit late to the party, but better late than never! I present to you our gingerbread homes (the A-Frame is in fact a mobile gingerbread home). – Dade
Sunday I loved that the songs we sang in Sacrament meeting focused on Light and even mentioned Stars. :) Goes with our theme of the Star (from the Nativity) this month!
Collin had his first OFFICIAL day in nursery today. They brought him back to me soon with a green runny nose and an elevated temp…of course!! It stopped as soon as he was out. 18 months old and he’s already faking to get out of class! :)
After church, it was such a beautiful day that we spent some electrifying time on the trampoline!
Call me, Maybe??
We then headed over to my sweet nephew, Aaron’s, 1st birthday!! Then it was a zoom over to Ella’s Great to be 8 celebration! She’s going to be 8 years old this year and that’s when children in of our faith are baptized! She’s been counting down to the day and is super excited. Her baptism is probably going to be scheduled for July the 5th so put it on your calendars!! Woohoo! Super proud of this girl of mine!
Then, suddenly Collin started doing something new!
