12-16-2012 Week in Review…

Monday…still in California…I HATE my glasses.

However, back at home Sylvie was having a grand time staying with her cousins! Mom is staying with Ella & Corben at night and after school but Sylvie needed a place during the day so she gets to hang with cousins all day!

Ella was also having a great time at school…

We were busy being crafty! Ryan’s mom made this awesome bark Christmas tree.

Ryan and I took a turn on the lathe and came up with these! Mine’s the one with the ring on it. I actually had to carve that out while it was spinning! So fun. We all want a lathe now…

We had a great evening going out and having dinner another wonderful friend of mine who I miss so much! (Why do so many friends of mine keep ditching me for California?? Must be the weather…sigh…)

Tuesday we took Collin on his first trip to the beach!

Collin kept taking little breaks to bite me…lol

What a GREAT day!

Wednesday started out WAY early…Collin was a champ and I have to say it was SO nice to have Ryan with me this time…especially when Collin’s diaper EXPLODED on the plane. He was really a total angel this trip despite being sick. He’s hardly cried at all and everyone has awesome baby envy! :)

My sweet baby boy screamed for 3 days before my trip. THEN he was the perfect angel of a child the entire trip, including 4 plane rides! I'm serious when I say he maybe cried once or twice in 6 days! Now we're home and he's screaming like crazy again. Guess he misses our vacation, too.

Thursday was back to life…UGH!!  Sylvie caught a stomach bug and spent the night throwing up. Ella caught something at school and had a fever. Collin was screaming and screaming and screaming…HOWEVER…I did get the book done for Gma AND we did make it to Corben’s concert (somehow) and even though the girls were crazy I was able to enjoy the evening. Now, if I could just come get someone to clean my house…(Mom cleaned it yesterday but they trashed it today while I worked on the book!)

Corben’s concert was fantastic! The orchestra sounded so amazing and to see him playing his cello so intently and contributing to the beautiful music just warmed my heart. He then had to run and change into his tux or the chorus and missed the first 2 songs but made it in time to sing several more. He sang so well. Then the guys got up and sang in a group on stage together. He was so handsome on stage. I think he’s just amazing!

Friday morning started with an awesome meteor shower!

Turned the car around backwards at the bus stop so Corben and I could watch the meteor shower. I was getting frustrated (and so was he) because I saw at least 10 that he just missed but then the largest one of them all tore across the sky right where he was looking and just as the bus pulled up. He was so excited! What a fun way to start the morning (and to help not think about how cold it is outside)!

The lower photo is from 9 years ago. Same porch, we even had the hose behind us but you can't see it. (I SO wish Jason could have been there but he was on his mission so we took him on a stick!)

Saturday I gave the kids some money and a challenge to do some service with it. The girls chose to go to the store and purchase items for Toys for Tots! They had a great time and I’m so proud of them!

Saturday night was the Semi-formal dance Dade had worked so hard to ask his girlfriend to. I was lucky enough to get to volunteer and loved seeing Dade look so happy and having so much fun. Here he is with his amazing roommate and then with his girlfriend, Maddie.

Sunday…3 kids sick = me going to church by myself since I was subbing in Primary. Ella has an ear infection, poor thing.

Collin is growing fast. He’s still a Turtle (wont’ get off his back if you lay him down) but I won’t complain. I am not ready for him to be mobile. He is making choices now. He can get his paci in and out of his mouth and decides on his own when he needs it or not. He’s very sure that in mom’s arms is the only place to be and when given the choice between Ella’s rabbit and Sylvie’s bear he pushed away the bear multiple times to get to the rabbit. Kind of col to see his brain working.
