All right, to start off this week I thought I’d share something from a few weeks ago that I forgot to share. Corben says I’m not supposed to technically do this but I tried to be honest as possible. Anyway, THIS is why I LOVE school pictures…and why I don’t buy them!! LOL This is the second year in a row that I’ve cracked up laughing when Corben handed me the packet. They MADE him smile like that (or so he claims). The lady kept saying, “Smile BIGGER!”. Where there you have it, folks. I may start offering a bonus to my kids for which ever one can bring home the funnier picture…
Oh, and I’m a bit bitter because I got my first mosquito bite of the season yesterday…bitter and bitten…
Okay, on to our week. My kids were sick this week. That pretty much sums it up. Here’s Ella on Day 5!
Anyway, Sylvie was sick for a total of 4 full days but 6 if you count the random reoccurrences in the middle of the night though she was fine the rest of the day before and after…
Ryan, in an attempt to be Super Dad…bought them FISH!! One Beta fish each. Pictures later…I keep forgetting and they’re so dark I’ll have to take them outside to get a good shot but you want this blog tonight so you have to wait for pics. ANYWAY, Sylvie named hers Slallow which evolved into Swallow after a day or so and Ella named hers Little Fishy, then Baby Fish, and finally Guppie. They’re blue. Not sad, just blue.
The boys were sick for a day or so each this week, but luckily most were clear by mid week. Sylvie came in the house to inform me there was a spider on the side of the house. We’d recently dumped a wolf spider out the same door (found under the drier) so I was expecting to see it but found THIS!! I’m staring at it on my screen and have to say that this is about actual size. It was HUGE. SO….(I took a picture, then…)I went and switched my flip flops for boots and smooshed it!
{Ha…Sylvie just came to me and told me she thinks her fish is thirsty! I think I need to explain fish a little better to her…}
So this week has me reflecting some. It was one year ago today that Ryan accepted his first job offer last year and left the same job he’d had since his teens. We’ve taken another job since then and things are just so much better for us. So much can change in a year. I am so thankful to my Father in Heaven for His hand in all these matters…we are so blessed!
So, I wasn’t planning on keeping up with our Thursday play dates as often as I had in April but when Thursday came around and I got some phone calls we decided that maybe once or twice a month would still be great! I had two separate friends come over and hang out for the day. I really do love having people come over. It was especially nice after the kids had been cooped up sick…
In fact, the weather is getting much warmer around here so Ryan pulled out the girl’s pool and put a canopy over it to keep all the pollen out (perfect idea!). Keeps the sun & bugs out too!
The girls have spent most of the time in the pool since then and I’m LOVING it! Ryan took the boys shooting on Saturday and then he and I managed to get out on a date (shopping) Saturday night and out to an amazing musical performance tonight. It’s been a good day today…church was great, the Primary kids sang great, we ate Choc Chip Cookies for National Choc Chip Cookie Day, and listening to an amazing choir sing about the temple just really brought the Spirit. Now off to bed…
