Finally!! A slow week!! Not that I wasn’t busy, I just didn’t have as many places to go so I was able to finish SEVERAL large projects that had been weighing on me. So, if my days seem empty, just imagine me slaving away to get some work done, changing diapers (Dade’s gone – he he), chasing children, and attempting to keep Corben happy as can be with no one to play with but babies that tackle him and try to bite….. Ok, so to start off the week here’s a pic from LAST Sunday at the family party. Sylvie loves her aunt Rachel!!
Monday was AMAZING!! We were joined for dinner and family home evening by some very long time friends of ours. I have known the Boatrights since I was just a year old! They are one of the most amazing families you could ever meet and I am so privileged to know them and all of their children. Anyway, (I could go on and on but I could just see some of them blushing….), we had a fabulous dinner and then they led us in a fun family home evening. They taught us how to sing Head Shoulders Knees and Toes in Japanese and shared with me a few fun ways to say Hello in other languages. (All things I will be sharing with my Primary kids!) I’m so glad they were able to come and meet my family and that my kids were able to meet them!
Tuesday was a mad dash to get Dade a new wardrobe before he left for Georgia to spend a week with his dad. Dade is almost 5 ft 9 in. and has outgrown the last of his shorts in the last couple of weeks. We had to get new shoes and I was blown away to find out my 13 year old is wearing a size 12!!! The men in the shoe dept. were even talking about it when we left, I could hear them around the corner. We headed straight from the store to visit with my wonderful friend, Javita. She watched the kids while I ran Dade to the airport. He was gracious enough to allow me to take this picture of us, though now that I look at it, I REALLY wish I had a better small camera than my phone. It makes my already large nose WAY too big…and emphasizes my wrinkles….and ages me a few years…..and, and,….okay, that’ mostly just me….except the extra big nose….that’s camera distortion…
That night I went to Home Family and Personal Enrichment night at church. I dressed up all comfy in my PJ’s and went to hang with my good friends. We got wonderful time in a quiet room with music & aromatherapy to read our scriptures or write in our journals. There was a fabulous organization class and veggies & fruit
at the end. Ryan called just as the socializing was starting to let me know that he needed me to go to the grocery store…IN MY PJ’s….to get whipping cream because he was already most of the way through the ice cream making process and short on cream. So, I headed out IN MY PJ’s and just pretended that I was cool like that and marched through FoodLion doing some shopping. I got home and soon we had the YUMMIEST ice cream any of us had ever tasted. (We were a bit impatient so here’s Sylvie eating hers in milkshake form.) Thanks, Ryan!!
Wednesday my fabulous mom came and watched the girls so Ryan and I could get some things done. I got to take Corben to scouts and have one of the most fabulous conversations with some of the women at church that I’ve ever had. It’s so nice to learn that you’re not the only one with crazy family stories! LOL Thanks, Ladies!!
Thursday I was able to expand my Heritage Makers business and sign on a new consultant!! Can I get a Woot Woot!! Seriously, I am SO excited….
Friday we spent the afternoon and dinner with my fabulous in-laws. We love them so much and really enjoy their company!
Saturday I took advantage of the Super Kohl’s sale & tax free weekend. I finished off Dade’s school clothes shopping and picked up most of the kids school supplies. Ryan headed back to Kohl’s when I got home and was able to get a whole new wardrobe at 70% off. It was about time! Ryan then made the most fabulous Smoked Pork loin and yams and we were able to take it over to some friends who just had a new baby. We also brought them homemade cornbread and ice cream. It was so much fun!
Sunday was a wonderful lazy day. I worked on some church activities for the kids and Ryan went out and visited several families from the congregation to see how they were doing.
See? Sometimes we’re boring….

Well, maybe I'm boring, too, because I want to come over to your house. :)
