8-16-2009 Week in Review

Monday - I am SO proud of my Ella!!  She has been doing SO much this week!  She’s started using the toilet full time as of today! YEAH! and though we’re not quite ready for undies I’m down to no more than 2 pull-ups a day!! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!!  Actually, today is the first day that she didn’t have a single accident!  Also, Ella said her first full prayer on her own.  Last week she did one that consisted of:

“Henly Fader….bless.…name Jesus Crise…Amen!!

Today she insisted on doing the lunch prayer on her own and sure enough it was fabulous!  She asked God to bless mommy, Sylvie and the prophet!!  I am SO proud of her.  She’s doing so well!  I love being able to understand more of what she’s saying and getting to really find out what all she knows!

Tuesday – Another dry day! Go Ella!  We even went to story time at the mall and though I had to take her to two public restrooms she made it and all was well.  It was nice to go over to the mall.  I love spending time with the sisters from church.  I wish I had a chance to do it more often!  It was SO hot that day (over 100 degrees) and when I got out to my car I discovered, sadly, that a bottle of Ryan’s cologne had exploded inside.  Yes, I could smell it BEFORE I opened the doors.  Not the kind of day you want to drive with the windows down but it was that or die of the fumes!

I went to pick Dade up from the airport.  He was much easier to gather than Corben had been.  He had a wonderful week with his dad!  Now Dade is already the spitting image of his father but he came home making even more of the same facial expressions and talking the same….I think he also grew another inch…seriously.  I’m glad they got the time together.

Wednesday – I did nothin’…..yep, nothin’.  Well, I read a book, and sent Corben off to karate camp (which he’s in all week).  Oh, I did get some grocery shopping done…I know, big excitement…..THEN, Mom brought home THIS….

She bought it because it was at the Goodwill and she didn’t know what it was.  We pondered on what kind of candle holder it could be.  Maybe it could be the family relic passed down through the ages with no one ever knowing what it was meant for…..  I joked with her about the time a friend of mine bought a pretty vase at a consignment shop and a cop stopped her at the door because it was really a crack pipe and they threatened to arrest her if she didn’t hand it over!  Well, after much contemplation I came up with a theory.  It looked as if it could possibly hold a wine bottle.  I thought maybe the hole was to show the label….  Yep, that must be it, a wine bottle holder.  To my mom?…Drug paraphernalia!!  LOL  So NOW she had this THING she didn’t know what to do with…luckily a friend who drinks a lot of sparkling cider offered to take it off her hands so she doesn’t have to pass it down through the family and have everyone think she was a wino.  Ah, good times…..

I finally pulled the sprinkler out for the kids!!….cause I try to be a fun mom sometimes…..My favorite pictures are the ones of everyone getting splashed in the face.  Corben isn’t here because he was off for the weekend with my mom…..

My SUPER GOOD NEWS this week came from Colorado where my photos are now up for sale along with these amazing amazing frames made by my sister’s friend, Sara.  I am SO EXCITED to have finally found a marketable skill!!….Now, I just have to sit back and wait for the mullah to start rollin’ in…..waiting….waiting….waiting….

Now, enough of all that….I’m off to enjoy a quiet week with my family and NO INTERNET (okay, just for work) and NO TV!!  The boys are out roasting marshmallows and Ryan’s in reading the girls a story.  I’m going to go join them.  See ya’ll when I get back!!

Three hours left to press the keys
That take me to this spot
Where family pics and joy abound--
I like it quite a lot!

But since you won't be blogging now
Until next Sabbath day
I guess I'll have to make a trip
And join that water play.

But just in case my scheduling
Won't let me come your way
Please keep on taking photos---
I look forward to Sunday!
