I must say, it was such a joy to see so many of you at my wedding reception (a little over 4 years ago)!! I hope you enjoyed the food. It was all made with love by so many wonderful people that I could never thank enough! I'm sure it was so delicious, I wouldn't know, I ate pepperoni pizza...(I fully believe that at your most important events you should get to eat what you want!)....not just because I love pizza so much, but because I saw the rolls get made!! So, here's the story.......can I mention here how much I LOVE my sister?!
So, it started with the biggest batch of dough EVER!! When it came time to let it rise mom suggested Tammy put the dough in a slightly warm oven to rise. The dough was divided up into several containers so it would all fit. Let's just say, IT ROSE!! When Tammy checked on it EVERY container had overflowed down into the bowls below and all into the bottom of the oven. It had even come out the bottom of the oven door and was in the pan drawer!! Tammy was SO frustrated...to say the least.
I, being myself, was trying not to laugh and had realized that later, much later, we would be laughing about this. Tammy had wanted the rolls to be just right and was worried about what to do now! Realizing that we needed a container big enough to hold what was left I found....a bin. Yes, A BIN!! Don't worry, I washed it!
At this point, Tammy was feeling a bit better and even allowing me to take pictures, she too realizing that this would one day be REALLY funny.
So she mixed and mixed and the dough was finally ready for it's 2nd rising. Needless to say, we were a bit worried, but come on, look at the size of that bin!! So I cleaned out the bottom of the refrigerator, covered the bin in saran wrap, crossed our fingers, and left. We joked about what we would find when we got home later. I told Tammy if it was bad to just take a picture.
Later that evening I got home and found a note on the table....
"I took a picture - love, Tammy"
HAHA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA!!!
Now, come on people, you know that's funny.
Regardless of it's rough beginnings (don't worry, we removed any dough that was contaminated!), the rolls were FANTASTIC!! Everyone raved about them and I heard how good they were for weeks to come. Guess a little bit of humor tastes pretty good!!!
It's LATER....so we can all laugh!!
