3-30-08 Week in Review

Monday - For Family Home Evening tonight Ryan came home and built a fire in the backyard. (I love that we can have a fire pit in our yard! - Yet another reason to not move.) We've been waiting for the local burn ban to be over so we could burn the Christmas tree that's been drying out in the yard. Talk about a HUGE fire!! I couldn't even catch the whole thing in the picture! It must have been as high as the house. Click on the picture to get the full affect!

Tuesday - Today was a beautiful day! Ella loves playing outside so I let her run for a bit while I chased her with the camera. I had a meeting tonight so Ryan stayed home with the kids and made pizza, YEAH!

Wednesday - Today was Sylvie's day for the camera. She sat up today on her own from a crawling position! Somehow our computer was hacked today. I'm not very happy, to say the least. Luckily I have lots of wonderful family who is willing to help me fix it. Dade had scouts and so mom dropped him off and then took Corben to the library. It's their new Wednesday activity together. After everyone got home and went to bed Ryan and I got some time to cuddle up and watch a movie.

Thursday - Ella wasn't feeling well today so I spent the day cuddling with her and sorting clothing in her room. These girls have too many clothes!! Well, it's not actually that they have too many, it's just that they're constantly growing so I have to pack away the clothes they've grown out of and pull out the bag of clothes Sylvie's growing into, rearrange the draws, and make it all make sense for Ryan. I feel like in the time it takes me to accomplish the task they've already grown into the next size of clothing and so I immediately have to start over. It's a vicious cycle. Who keeps feeding these kids?! I took Ella to the doctors because she kept having these uncontrollable screaming fits and was refusing food (since Monday) but of course they could find nothing wrong except for a slight fever. Glad it wasn't more. We stopped at Ross on the way to pick up Corben and she found a pair of clogs that she REALLY wanted that were super cute and super cheap. We headed up to the counter only to find the line was entirely too long for me to make it to pick up Corben so I had to leave the cute shoes on the counter and drag my screaming daughter to the car. Oh well.

Friday - Well today was Corben's day to be ill. He got to stay home from school and start his Easter break early. I started the day with an injured ankle after running and falling down the stairs with Sylvie in my arms at 6:30 am to wake Dade after he missed the bus. Luckily, I was still able to drive him to school in time even though it's a 20 minute drive. Sylvie decided that since she can now sit and crawl it was time to move ahead and so she now can pull herself upto a standing position. She showed off several times today. Guess that means it's time to drop the crib mattress down! Ryan got off of work early to prepare for the scout campout. He and Dade headed out in time to make it to the Young Men's basketball game (Dade was playing - they lost 48-11) and then head out to the campout. Corben and I stayed up late and watched Night at the Museum and ate popcorn. It was nice.

Saturday - Dade's aviation badge activity was canceled due to wind (they were going up in a plane) so they got home early. A friend of mine from church called with a great blessing for us. Someone had dropped off a full bag of 24 month sized girl summer clothes and she didn't need them! Since that's the size Ella is going in to and I don't have any clothes for her for summer, it was a wonderful surprise. Thanks Kelly!! Another nice thing, Ryan watched all the little ones while Dade and I ran out to hit the triple coupons and Harris Teeter (I saved almost 70% on my bill! YEAH!!) - you can't beat tomato soup for 3.5 cents each!! Then I ran in to Ross on the slim hope that the cute clogs Ella had wanted were still on the shelf and they were! She was super excited when she saw them and started yelling shoes! shoes! and has been wearing them ever since. The boys then spent some time playing with the baby girls. It's so fun to see them playing together. Ryan caught a picture of the elusive Dade Fairy (it's amazing what big brothers will do to entertain little sisters!) We ended the night with a family viewing of Underdog and then crashed to bed.

Sunday - Corben, I and the girls stayed home from church today due to Corben's fever he can't seem to get rid of. I worked on Family History (one of my favorite past times) and the girls played and slept. It's actually quiet around here today. A lot of reading going on.

All in all not a very productive week, quite the opposite but we're all together and most of us are getting well so hopefully spring break will be a great week!
