1-1-2012 Happy New Year!

What, it’s not New Years??? It’s almost FEBRUARY??!!  Oh well, you can pretend…right? :)

Monday the boys headed out for a  week with their dad.  I headed over to my mom’s house to celebrate my grandma’s 79th birthday!!

We’re laughing at THESE pictures on my camera!

What are they laughing about??  It’s all about some video taken of my mom and others playing a horse riding game on the xbox.  That video is not here for you to see (but if you’re family just ask me for the YouTube link :P). Sorry but at least you can enjoy all the looks of laughter and just wonder what you’re missing…

Tuesday it rained.  Everyone was gone so I just did laundry…

Wednesday I had a meeting with the new primary chorister!  The ward hasn’t found out yet but two weeks ago I was informed that I’m being released as the children’s music teacher at church after 3 whole years.  I thought it best to make sure the new chorister new what we were doing before she was dropped right into things.  It was so nice to pass on my stuff but I’m SO going to miss those kids!

Thursday the kids got some fun when my visiting teachers came over and brought their great kids!  The boys got home late Thursday after spending a great week with their dad.  Christmas #2 was pretty grand!

Friday I had an early appt with my OB.  Thanks to my visiting teacher for watching my kids as Dade was at an all day wrestling match.  That evening Corben headed off to my mom’s for the weekend and then I went to pick Dade up from his match.  He looked horrible!  He’d had a kid pull some illegal moves on him and it resulted in two black eyes, a busted nose, and a cut head.  He was being a real trooper about it and even came home and got ready for the church New Years Dance!!  He ended up having a great time but came home and crashed after taking pain meds.

Saturday was my SIL, Jamie’s, birthday!!  We sure love her.  Dade stayed home from his wrestling meet to recover.  Already one eye and his nose look a lot better.  It’s going to be a while before the other one heals.

The kids and I prepared for the New Year by finishing up all our homemade gifts for the Schneg family party.  There was A LOT of sewing involved.  Sylvie made a little bunny for Averie and Ella made a Fort Kit for Dylan.  Corben had spent last night at my mom’s and they worked on button bracelets for Brinley. Everything turned out great!  (but I have no pictures…sigh)

Corben’s been working on being a chef (he got a cool chef coat for Christmas from my mom) and made this cool dish that I can’t remember the name of but it has salmon, rice & seaweed…

We then shredded tons of newspaper for a fun evening of throwing paper at midnight!

Sunday I was released from my chorister position and a very capable awesome lady was called in my place. I know she’s going to be amazing.  It was bittersweet saying good-bye to the kids and, truth be told, I ended my calling the exact same way I started it…sobbing in the church bathroom.  The kids were so sweet and gave me tons of hugs.  I went to class with the rest of the grown ups and tried not to cry too much.  Wonder where I’ll be next!

After church we finished up our homemade gifts and headed to the Schneg family Christmas party.  The gifts were Amazing!!

I’ll insert photos here when I get them!

What a fun night!  Well, on to the new year!!  Happy New Year everyone!
