Monday was great! Time with Ryan and the girls, PTSA agreed to join the Food Drive, and Family Home Evening!
Tuesday I headed to my SIL to work on some hair accessories for the girls… I learned how to make the flowers from my good friend, Jamie E. Thanks!
Wednesday was one of those mad dash crazy days….6am drive Dade to Seminary, 9am Drive Corben to school, 9:15 get gas for the van and pick up the film at Walmart (yes I said Film), 9:45 pick up some friends for the girls to play with all day! (Yeah!)… It was an ABSOLUTELY gorgeous day (in the 70’s?) and the first day the girls have gotten to play outside in a long time!
…3:30 Take cute girls home, 4:15 Pick Corben up late from school, 4:30 Neighbors arrive to bbsit, 5:00 Drive off with Cassie (Jason’s girlfriend) to celebrate her birthday and get our nails done!, (6pm Mom takes over the kids, 7pm Mom takes all kids to scouts), 7pm Cassie and I race to see Dade’s last wrestling match…I missed him by 2 minutes! But his team won AGAIN! 8:30 Get home, wait for mom to bring kids, 9pm Put children to bed, 9:30pm still putting kids to bed, 10pm Ryan finally puts kids to bed when he gets home, 10:30 Curl up with hubby and watch a movie, 12:30 Snore….
Thursday ended off with my first official school function as PTSA Vice President. (My surgery kept me from the previous ones.) It went great! I feel like so many years of serving in many different church callings has made it easy for me to transition into working in the school. They’re already talking about me taking on the President position next year but I know that I’ll be spending a lot of time at the Elementary (and middle?) school so I’m not sure I’m up for running the show. Maybe someday. Anyway, I got to meet several of Dade’s teachers and spoke with them and some of his teachers from last semester. It was SO amazing! They were all going on and on about him and told me that they’d been talking about him before the meeting. What a pleasure he was to have in class, how they wished they could challenge him more, how smart he is, all the awards he’s going to get, what classed they hope he takes to get into AP courses sooner, on and on and on! I am one proud mama!! We also got word today (thank you Principal B.) that they have waived the two years of prerequisite computer courses that they require for all students and that Dade can now take any of the 11th grade and higher computer courses! He’s now taking an online class through Wake Tech during 4th period. They didn’t have a class that period but the teacher was willing to have him sit in on her Study Period. I am so thankful for teachers and administration that listen and care!
Friday my Corben came home early from school not feeling well. So we just hung out all day.
Saturday was QUITE THE DAY!!
First of all…
Happy 20th Birthday to my (not so)
Baby Sister, Rachel!!
Then…it started out with my attending a beautiful baptism at the church for one of my Primary kids who just turned 8 years old! I drove straight home to change and then rushed out to help my brother with his fun adventure he had set up for his girlfriend, Cassie’s, birthday. A few weeks ago Tammy went to the Museum and took about 60 macro shots of random items around the museum. Friday night I worked for a very long time turning them black and white and putting them onto 3 separate sheets to be handed out today for an very very very fun Scavenger Hunt!! (Feel free to ask me for the pictures sheets, it’s a fun way to see the museum!) 11 of us met at the museum….
Here’s Jason… Here’s Jason & Cassie…
…then we divided into 3 separate groups and went searching around the museum for an hour in hopes of crossing everything off of our list!
My group was the most successful as we found all of them but one. Well, no one found that last one until after we all met at the Waterfall in the middle of the museum…Jason then announced that he’d found what the last picture was…
{Okay, SERIOUSLY these next pictures are some of the WORST pictures EVER! They’re blurry and not properly focused…but in my defense…the lighting was horrible so I’d bumped my ISO up but then I was shaking SO badly that none of my settings even mattered…you get the idea though, right??
Oh, and did I mention I was also filming at the same time? }
THEN….ALL OF A SUDDEN…
And, here it is in VIDEO!…please excuse the earthquake that was my hand…
How appropriate…it was at a WATERFALL!!
Then we got to go outside where the light is my friend!
Congratulations, Jason & Cassie!!!
So, after all of that, my fun was far from over! I headed out that evening to spend a great time with my Sister, Tammy @ her BABY SHOWER!! It’s so hard to believe she’s only 3 weeks away from her due date. We had a fun girl’s night at Chili’s. My SIL Jessica was there and it made me so wish us girls could get out more like that! I am so excited for Tammy. I can’t wait to see her newest bundle of joy. She is such an amazing mom and I am so blessed to have her living so close. I love ya, Tam!
Sunday…First of all…
Happy Birthday to my (soon-to-be)
Sister-in-law, Cassie!!
Then…I woke to a Corben running 103+ fever. No church for him! So instead it was just me & Dade. I had a fun singing time with the kids. We’re learning to sing I Will Follow God’s Plan and I’m attempting to teach it to them in SIGN LANGUAGE!! (I know, I’m crazy like that…)
When I got home, Ryan set up his new deck fire pit and he and I and the girls spent the rest of the day, well into the night, out there. We roasted marshmallows, ate our supper, and told stories. Sylvie’s stories were amazing. She told about how I was lost in the woods looking for an earring for over an hour and how I couldn’t go to church with only one and how Ryan came and saved me. At the end we went home and had cozy warm hot chocolate! Another story had Ryan running from creepy pigs!…she cracks me up.
Dade came out and joined us for awhile. Poor Corben spent most of the day in bed. Thank goodness for my new Android pad. I was able to download a few audio books from the library for him so he could at least “read” when he was too sick to keep his eyes open. He finished 2 today and loved it! He did venture outside for a few minutes while his Motrin was working to hang out with us. Wow, Family time is SO amazing. We didn’t mind a bit that we weren’t watching football or commercials…we were having the best time EVER!
