Mon & Tues – Who even remembers?
Wed – My wonderful brother, Jymn, and his family were in town for a week & a half and spent a great day with me and the kids. Jymn headed out with me on a dreary morning to do a Bridal shoot. The weather, the black cat, and my camera, all had me worried but things turned out great!! Jymn even got some pics of me “in action”. LOL
Afterwards, we headed home to where Shelby was manning the fort and all the kids. Dade made a cool rocket that used baking soda & vinegar. The kids had a ton of fun, especially watching as it exploded (more than once) all over Dade!!
Thurs – Thanksgiving! (Or as me and my new found friends at PickyEatingAdults like to call it – Black Thursday!) The day was spent at my mom’s house with 4 other of my siblings & their kids, along with my mom and her mom.
Friday we were back over at my Mom’s to spend some time with even more family. My aunt Debbie, cousin Tiffany, and my aunt Rosie drove in to visit with everyone for a few hours.
Then, the kids all headed outside for some romping in the leaves. My brother, Jymn caught so many great photos of all the little cousins!
Sat – Corben came to me today with an interesting proposition. He wanted to spend the next month living like a Medieval Knight and wondered if I’d pay him $1 to do it. First, I asked what all this entailed. Basically, No Technology & Foraging for his own meals (though we decided he could simply make them on his own). Hmmm, let me think….SURE! And to show my support I’ll even offer him $20!! I’m excited to see how this plays out!
Sunday we headed down to the baby blessing of my sweet new sister, Terralynn. The blessing was beautiful and the kids were actually really good at church. Afterwards, we headed over to my dad’s house for dinner & family fun. The kids spent a great deal of time on the trampoline and running around.
My dad pulled out “Puppet Bear”. When I was a kid we had a puppet bear that was brown and fluffy and my dad would seemingly make him come alive. We called him Shniffles. The bear he has now is little and white and my Dad can make that little puppet come completely to life. The kids were amazed and in love!!
3 of my sisters……..So beautiful!
Ryan bouncing Ella up on the Trampoline and then catching her. She loved it!
I tried to catch a few pics of Terralynn who was so cranky but after MUCH bouncing I did catch a few!!
Monday, for what ever crazy reason (free pizza & tokens & time with family), I loaded up the kids (without Ryan – who was doing some church work) and headed out to the dreaded Chucky Cheese. It actually was a lot of fun. There were enough adults to cover the kids so there was little stress. We did, however, at the end, attempt to get a photo with just the 11 cousins. HA HA HA!! Sylvie was in tears and Ella was being a nut…..if you think these pics look chaotic, you should see the video!
Tues – We headed out early to get some fun family pics of my brother and his family. It was so nice to have a sunny day for once!!
We headed from there to my fab SIL, Jamie, who watched my kids & we spent the afternoon. The girls got their toes painted and were so happy!
Wednesday was cold & wet & Corben was home from school (again). He’s been dealing with his CVS lately, though he hasn’t thrown up – thank goodness! The girls were sleeping so Corben put on a rain coat and walked the 1/4 mile to Dade’s bus stop to help him stay dry. What a good brother!
Wednesday was the last day everyone would be in town so we had another family gathering at our house. Since Dade & Ryan’s birthdays are Thursday we decided to do one cake each night. Here’s Ryan and his 35 candles!!
Thursday was spent getting ready for Dade’s birthday. I made this fun Mouse cake and hid a present for Dade. He’s been wanting this toy called an Annoy-a-tron 2.0 that you hide and it sets off random beeps just loud enough to make you crazy & quiet enough that you can’t find it. I told him when he found it he could have it. Talk about one crazed teenager! LOL…..it was fun…..for me.
Friday we headed out to a fun party for my nephew, RJ, who is turning 3 on Saturday. It was a fun day and great time with family!!
Saturday, Corben got up early and made everyone pancakes. He’s made every meal for himself so far and is learning quite a bit about cooking. He insisted on making his own meal at a friends house and has faithfully stayed off of computer and TV. He even gave up his watch! I’m sure proud of that kid!!
So now it’s Sunday and we’re resting from all our labors!! YEAH!!
