This MAY be the longest blog ever….but probably not….. My goal? Less talk, more pictures……PS…Corben still lives with us and we love him…he just spent a lot of time with family this week and made it into very few pictures…..
Mon –
No kids ‘til noon!!…I love my family!
Tues -
Makin’ Pizza!
Wed -
Ella has become such the little helper! She has her own set of chores now and she’s quite good at them. She carefully sorts the silverware out of the dishwasher, puts large piles of laundry away upstairs without unfolding a one, and folds all the dish towels for the kitchen. She’s also started cleaning up the living room pretty well. YEAH!!
Dade is such a great big brother. I honestly don’t know what I would do without his help most days!
Thurs -
Take note that my little Sylvie is in a dress in EVERY picture. That’s because she refuses to wear anything else. She. is. a. Princess. …..that plays with rocks, apparently…and dirt….and bugs….
Fri -
Sylvie making her “I’m Cute” face
Fun at the Park
Sat –
Corben headed out for a fun weekend with his
Grandparents. I managed to work in a photo
shoot and still made it to the family party on
time.
Dade hates this
picture….. but I’m pretty
sure it’s just because
he’s a little embarrassed
that he got PIE all over
his shirt!!
HAHAHAHA!!
Sylvie got Princess stuff for her birthday. She
was SO excited and has worn them practically
every day since!!
Sun -
Daddy put up a new swing in the yard for the girls!!

NO SCHOOL! for Labor Day. Mom came and watched the kids so Ryan and I spent the day shopping for a new mattress & getting the house fixed up a bit. We took our pillows so we could get the real feel for
what it would be like. Here’s Ryan carrying his pillow into Sam’s. The man at the door asked if it was a return! HAHAHA! The lady at the door when we left asked if the lines were really that long!
We finally settled on THIS one. Well, Ryan settled (fell asleep) on it and so after waking him we decided to take it home….well not THIS one exactly, but a new one like it.
Funny Story!!
So, we go to the warehouse to pick up our new mattress and box spring and the men come out to help us get everything in the van. I got back in the van since I figured it was the best way to be out of the way. The mattress is having trouble fitting so one of the men climbs into the back (behind my seat) and starts to pull it in. Well suddenly Ryan gives it a good hard shove and it pins the guy up against the back of my seat. He gives out a muffled yell to wait for him to get out but Ryan can’t hear him and can’t seem to figure out why the mattress won’t slide the last foot so he starts ramming it really hard over and over and the guys face keeps getting smushed on the back of my seat…over and over and over! The guy finally escaped by sliding out of the van and pulling his head out from between the mattress and the seat. I was laughing SO hard that I couldn’t breathe….ah, good times.
Tues –
Pampered Chef!! That’s all I have to say…well almost. I got $90 worth of stoneware and a BUNCH of other stuff for only $25. Happy Day!! Plus I got to hang with some of my favorite ladies!
Wed –
SYLVIE’S B-DAY!!
(or as Sylvie likes to call it….HAPPY DAY!!
Sylvie is SO fun to give presents to! She gets SO excited about each item and takes it around to everyone to see. She had to put her new Dora dress on right away and walked her new baby Mary around for everyone to see and hug.
Thurs -
Makin’ Bread!
Fri -
I headed out around Noon to meet up with my fabulous SIL, Rachel for our weekend White Water Rafting trip!! We didn’t make it to Georgia ‘til almost 10pm and were VERY happy the gates to the State Park were still open.
Funny Story….On the way into the park there was a police check point (made me feel better about sleeping there). So as we pull up and the cop asks Rachel for her license and registration…she hands him her…CREDIT CARD!! He just laughed and handed it back…(guess they don’t carry card swipers in their jackets). Rachel gave a nervous laugh and apologized (and we hoped he didn’t think we were trying to pay him off!) and he let us go.
When we got into the campsites we couldn’t figure out where you were supposed to put the tent! The ground was covered in Pea sized gravel. Now I’m no Princess but I was sure I wasn’t getting a good night sleep on this stuff! Luckily Rachel had some extra blankets in the car so it wasn’t as bad as it could have been! The next morning the camp host asked how we slept and I laughed. I told him the gravel was a bit uncomfortable and he looked at me strangely. He asked if we’d been sleeping on an air mattress….when I told him it was sleeping bags he was shocked! I guess no one really camps anymore!!
Sat -
Rachel and I headed out EARLY for our white water rafting trip. We made it out of the state park just fine (after getting the car jump started by a very kind elderly gentleman) and making our way down the VERY curvy road (I was car sick!) down the mountain. The trip was FANTASTIC!! Rachel and I handled those rapids like we were experts! Now, this is NOT the picture we purchased from them…this is the one the other couple in the boat bought but there was a mix up and our WAY COOLER pics are in the mail as we speak…..It was a wonderful day!! Right after we got back and got our picture we headed back the million hours to Rachel’s house and then I headed home alone the last few hours. It was SO nice to slide back into my bed until the VERTIGO hit me!! I guess I had post traumatic motion sickness?? After sitting for almost two days (and going up and down some of the windiest roads I’ve ever been on and twisting and turning all over a river) it seems that as soon I laid down it all hit me! Every time I closed my eyes I was spinning, I felt like I was in the raft…I spent quite some time in the bathroom and finally felt better enough to sleep. I’m sure Ryan was thrilled….Hi Honey, I’m home! BARFF!! I’m good now…..
Sun -
RELAXIN’!!
Mon -
Sylvie looked SO cute today and I was bound and determined to get a picture of her…but she was bound and determined that I was NOT going to get one!! She crossed her arms and stomped around the yard yelling NO at me…if she saw me coming she’d stomp off in the other direction.
She finally lightened up and I caught a few!!
Wed -
Mom came over, as usual, on Wednesday night and brought the BEST TOY EVER!!….for Ella, at least. YES, it’s SAFE. Ella’s Dr. recommended it for her since she LOVES sensory experiences. You climb inside (where you can see and breathe) and you’re velcro’d in. Ella was in her own magical little world! She plays in this thing FOREVER! She would run back and forth singing to herself and spinning. Doing summersaults and rolling around. She calls it the Blue Toy and I’ve found it wears her out perfectly for her nap!
Thurs -
“So,” you ask, “why’s Dade got a bandage on his knee and sitting in the hospital?”
I can not tell a lie…..it was a NEPHITE!! (Knee-fight?) Ha ha! Get it? Nephite?! Okay, that’s a Mormon joke so I’ll just tell you the truth….
He had to get a KID-KNEE transplant!! Ha ha! Get it? KIDNEY/KID KNEE??!!
Okay, FOR REAL….Dade cut his leg open kneeling on a light bulb…don’t worry, the cut was….wait for it….TEEN-KNEE!! Ha ha! Get it?! TEENIE/TEEN KNEE??!!
Man, you people are no fun….Dade didn’t think they were funny either…..he’s claiming Parana.
Don’t worry, NO STITCHES…just glue…and no PE for 10 days. Lucky kid!
Sat -
Party at the Park with the Cousins!!!
THEN….GIRL’S NIGHT OUT!!!!
What a fun night! 7 of us piled into the restaurant and waited for our seats to be ready. The waitress comes over and asks how many kid menus & crayons we need!! Do we REALLY look that Motherly??!! Ah well. After dinner we headed out for a movie. I felt so OLD yawning at 9:30pm as we left. We chatted for over an hour outside…easily outlasting all the teenagers. I’d have to say that was my favorite part!! I can’t wait to do it again SOON!!
Sun -
I really am OLD. I woke up exhausted. I had to eat CHOCOLATE just to get out of bed….Yes, I have chocolate by my bed…..but I made it! And we made it to church even though Ryan wasn’t there (he’s out of town with the Brothers on HIS White Water rafting trip!). Then I came home and SAT in my messy house, wishing (for once) that I cleaned on Sunday…but, alas, I don’t so tomorrow ought to be fun….
But then…COOKIES came to my door and all was right with the world….YEAH!
The End.

Holy Smokes yall are BUSY! Love all the awesome pictures!!! What a fun talent, huh? I love, love it. Your stories had me laughing. I really want to know where your Mom got that blue toy thing...my Mia would love it.
WOW! i'm tired just from reading all that!!!! I don't know how you have enough energy to do all this stuff!! My hero!
So while I was muffling my hysterical laughter while I read the mattress story (since Chad is sleeping), I simultaneously felt very guilty--mostly b/c it wasn't just a little chuckle, I was laughing HARD (sort of like the story where you gave the Good will guy a concussion?) In fact thinking about both these stories is making me have to muffle again--and again feel quite guilty. (And yet I can't stop smiling--am I a bad person?)
I love all the pictures; wish I could name a favorite. Loved the rundown. :)
Great pictures and stories! I especially like the ones of Sylvie not wanting her picture taken. That attitude won't be so cute in a few years but it's just adorable now. Natalie has the exact same Cabbage Patch doll, well, actually hers is a baldy b'cuz she was a baldy for so long herself. She figured out the other day that she can take the socks and shoes off so those are now history. Wish we lived closer together, would love to see you! =)
Longest post, but great post.
