9-16-2012 Week in Review…

Let’s see if I can remember back this far…

Monday morning it was time to go see if we could find THE BEAD. Of course, as we were getting ready, Sylvie mentioned that she thought she swallowed something. There was no way to know for sure so we still had to go. No worries, the entire procedure was actually a great experience for Sylvie. They make surgeries at the local children’s hospital a little too fun.

First there was the waiting area with a play room, games, and her own TV. They they gave her markers so she could write on her sheets!!

Then she got some “Princess Juice” (to calm the nerves) and then they gave her stickers to put on her mask and filled the inside with yummy scented chapstick.  Someone gave us the best compliment. She came over and when Collin smiled at her she said that it was a sure sign that he was very loved. :)

Everything went quickly (4 minutes). They didn’t need to give her an IV or a breathing tube. Sure enough the bead had been swallowed this morning.  I am so grateful for all the prayers.  When Sylvie woke up they gave her a popsicle, apple juice and a Disney princess coloring kit. She smiled and said, “Why’s this so much fun?!”  (Hopefully not so fun we do it again anytime soon!)

Ryan got home Tuesday from his trip down river. I’ll post a blog about that soon, too! (I hope)  Sylvie went over to spend the night with her cousins so Ryan could go with me to the hospital tomorrow. I love our family. :)

Wednesday was surgery for me.  We got to the hospital bright and early.  Surgery was no big deal. As you can see from the pictures by Ryan, Collin took to his new time away from mommy with no problems. He has to take a bottle for 2 or 3 days but he didn’t argue about that either!

My wonderful congregation stepped in and had supper ready for us that evening and Ryan was able to take the girls to gymnastics.  I expect to be camped out on the couch for a few days.

Ryan surprised me by getting an extra day off of work on Thursday. I sure needed the help! Just after I took this photo, I had 9 people check on me in a 20 minute time period. Feeling so blessed.

Friday my good friend, Mary Ann, came over so I could shower and rest.

Life is good! I'm healing well from hernia surgery and have been so blessed by everyone's love and support. Meals, babysitting, feeding my baby, coming over and watching him so I could take a shower and nap, tons of calls to check on me. I am so fully blessed and feeling overwhelmed with gratitude.

This was Corben at school that day. You can just see him behind the neck of the kid in the middle. lol

Saturday Corben took up the task of caring for me and everyone else…

Loving listening to Corben sing to Collin while he changes his diaper. Big brothers are awesome.

All the love got Collin all wound up and he rolled over!!!  It was a great night. Ella also had dad help her get her first bottom tooth out. Guess the tooth fairy is coming tonight!

Sunday…

So, apparently the Tooth Fairy was out on Medical Leave and so she had her trusted assistant come get Ella’s tooth.  Well, it seems that the trusted assistant was a little rusty on things and not only couldn’t find Ella’s tooth but forgot to bring the Tooth Fairy’s signature gold dollars and in frustration left a regular Human Dollar and gave up on finding the teeny tiny tooth.  When Ella awoke she was very confused. Not only was her tooth still there but a regular dollar was stuffed under her pillow. She and Sylvie decided it must be a prank by Corben. Either that or the Tooth Fairy was off her rocker. So she wrote the Tooth Fairy a note…

Dear Tooth Fairy, You forgot my tooth last night. Did you give me the dollar? I think you did. Did you (know) my tooth came out yesterday?

Guess the Tooth Fairy doesn’t need to worry about job security!! lol  (at least her assistant tried…)

Here’s the girls on their bikes. You see we got Sylvie a new bigger bike since her birthday bike was too teeny tiny.

My funny brother…

My awesome brother and his wife came over last night and did Family Home Evening for us. It was so great. Just before bed, however, I noticed that my brother had left his super warm Carhart coat so I emailed him and his wife:

Me:  “So, who left me the nice warm carhart as a gift?”

Cassie: “Haha that would be Jason!”

Jason:

You're welcome.....(to drop it off at my house)

We were thinking of you.....(and your delivery skills)

Hope you enjoy....(the drive to our house to drop it off)

Love you.....(for planning on returning my cherished property without litigation)

Bye......(is what I will yell from the front porch as you drive away)

He’s so funny! :)
