I Like Leaves!!

In celebration of this fabulous time of year I thought it appropriate to show off this little ditty my mom put together (with the help of some great video production by our good friend, Ammon!).  My mom’s been writing songs forever and it was fun to finally put one together in a show for everyone!  It was also a fun way for grandkids and friends to get to help!

So, without further ado here’s I Like Leaves!

Yet another conversation...

So, as many of you have noticed, the price of gas has fallen significantly. I bought gas yesterday for $1.97 but saw it as low as $1.95. YEAH! Well, as wonderful as this all is, it led me to quite the embarrassing conversation...

Some time last week....

phone ringing....

Female Family Member*: Hello?

Me: (driving down the road) FFM! I just passed gas...(looking to verify price) for $2.15!!

Female Family Member: (Trying to hold in the boiling over laughter coming out of her mouth) Well, I'll pay you twice that to not do it again!!

*She prefers to remain anonymous in these sort of stories

For Grandma....

I'm posting this because my grandma was very upset at a family member for throwing something away before letting her see it. What could it be, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. It's my family member's gallstones. GALLSTONES?!.....Yes, gallstones. I know.... ANYWAY, so my family member got her gallstones out several years ago. There was three of them (the doctor's kept one.) and they're about the size of big marbles. She kept them, that was until recently when reading through an organizational book on cleaning out your house she came across the line, "Throw away your gallstones!". Can't be much more straight forward than that! So, of course, said family member couldn't just throw them out before she had a chance to.....break them open and see what's inside! (Haven't you always been curious?) So I get this call from my family member, "Christy...you have to see this. It is so cool! It is just so cool! I cracked open my gallstone and it looks like a geode! It has all these layers and they're all sparkley! It's so cool. You have to come over and take a picture for me. I wonder what makes it sparkle like that? I mean, what was going on in my life during those first layers?" (They're the sparkliest.) - My family member is so awesome! So, what did I do? Of course, I went over and took pictures! And guess what, they really were sparkley! Very sparkley! Kind of cool. Okay, so now you're grossed out, but at least you've learned something. I bet they didn't teach you this stuff in science class! I mean, how many other crazy families do you know that take pictures of this kind of thing and post it on the web for their Grandma? Just us!
